FIFTH TRIAL

[ It's not terribly long, once everything has been found, before Davy Jones heads out to round you all up once more and take you into the theatre. At least plenty of you are around the same area, so it probably doesn't take terribly long.

The ride down to the trial room is the same as ever - a blast of the organ, a slow descent. It's really starting to become clear, though, just how your numbers are decreasing. You're already down three, counting the absence of Chloe, potentially more when you come back up.

The crew of the Dutchman is singing as Jones lets you out into the trial room. ]

To business, passengers. I am about if you need guidance.

[ The circle of podiums is less populated than ever. So many of you are islands now, so to speak.

The song dies down, the waters quiet.

That could explain Plumeria's poisoning. Either of them could have misread the proper dosage of medicine.

How exactly would that have happened? Once she was injured, it looks like she dragged herself to the crafts room. There wasn't any blood in the first aid room.

...Why was she taking medicine if she didn't need it?

That she ate the poisoned frozen yogurt Decus did but she took the wrong dosage, causing the frothing around her mouth. Then when she was in that state she was attacked with the sword.

Admittedly, this timeline of events doesn't quite make sense but from what I have so far that's the best I can do.

So you're thinking they both ate it? I suppose that is possible, but I don't really think that works out. If he attacked her with the sword and hit her, then she would have bled; if he missed, he likely would have left behind marks or knocked the medicines around more.

The attack didn't happen in the first aid room, right? I think you might be right, though...

There was almost certainly a struggle, but I didn't see any blood.

There sure was no blood in the ice cream parlor. Didn't seem like anything was cleaned, either.

I'd say her killing was for mercy then, except it looked pretty brutal.

But if it was for mercy, why would someone try and staunch the flow of blood?

Perhaps she tried to stop her own bleeding?

There was blood on her hands that could indicate she did. It was the postmortem positioning of her body that led me to conclude another person was present.

[Just to clarify!]

Was there blood near the fabric that was cut?

It's possible. And then...I don't know.

[His brow furrows in thought.]

Is it possible she tried to do that herself?

I think we need to step back and view all the evidence as a whole. We seem to be caught on the minute details, but we don't have a clear picture of what happened so far.

A timeline would be helpful. I know there were attempts at creating one...

Don't you need a large amount of pills to overdose on them? Taking one or two extra isn't an immediate death sentence.

Mm, yes. I imagine the overdose itself likely wouldn't have killed her if left alone.
