WEEK 7

Good morning, passengers. Happy Sunday. Happy New Year.

Another week, another three gone in the case alone, not to mention Chloe earlier in the week. Even as you gain access to another floor, the ship by now must be starting to feel more empty than ever. It's been a long time by now, approaching two months.

Where do you think you'll be, in two months more time?

The clouds have begun to gather around the ship, this week.

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

[ ooc: Welcome to week 7, everyone! Remember to turn in AC here and coins for regains over here! If you wish to get in contact with the npcs, Davy Jones is over here, and The Captain is over here! And as requested, profiles are accessible here. ]

[ He could always count on Yeager to take things in good humor. But that aside, he'll nod in response to Yeager's assessment. ]

A realistic conclusion to make. While our situation hasn't been tipped in the direction of being in our favor, it'll be foolish to believe it acceptable to lie down and die. Even if our odds remain currently low.

Given so much time has passed, however, morale of the others should remain a concern. Even in the light of the information that has been coming our way.

Ja, certainly. To be honest, I expected the general mood to be much lower after the trial.

[Filbo in particular surprised him, but everyone else seemed... well, more okay than he thought they'd be.]

But that doesn't mean we should assume everything will be fine. We need to find something that will at least make us feel like we're making progress.

[Even if it's something that was left out for them or something of the sort. What they need most right now is something that will continue to give them hope.]

... I don't doubt it's because we have a group that appears to have a high tolerance level. It's rare that I've found someone stewing in their own despair, and we haven't had many who really intended to take advantage of the motive.

Until extenuating circumstances, such as possession or some other series of events had forced their hand.

[ Obviously not counting those willing. But the fact that so far the number of truly intended being so low said a lot about the general state of the people here, as far as he was concerned. ]

Indeed we do. We already have various...factors that could increase our advantage, but we need more to make that 'could' into something substantial.

It is quite surprising that we've had so few people actually plan to kill.

[Considering how many of us are assholes and/or very experienced at killing, it's certainly odd... But these aren't typical circumstances, so maybe that makes sense.]

Ja, precisely. Let's keep an eye out and see what else we can find!

[ He's sure it made Jack kind of a little annoyed...well, not really. It all still ended up serving his purpose anyhow, so it's quite possible the man still didn't care as long as someone died, really. ]

Yes, let's. That aside, what do you think of those storm clouds? Do you believe them to be a result of something Jack has done, or borne from someone else's actions or ability? A hypothetical question, naturally, since we don't know the answer.

But they haven't dispersed and seemed to have settled directly above the ship.

I'm very curious about that as well, ja. I think it could be any number of things. Perhaps time isn't truly being reset but our position is - so the storm is a natural, albeit ominous one. But I think it's more likely that there is something else at play here - either the Captain has messed something up and this is some sort of warning... or maybe someone else out there sent a little help our way.

[Though honestly, he has no idea if Calypso has any control over the weather, so that might not be it either.]

What do you think?
deathmagnetic: (10)

[personal profile] deathmagnetic 2021-03-09 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I had always presumed that it was as you have said...that where we were was being actually 'reset'. Though because the nature of time manipulation and such things being out of my realm of expertise, I hadn't been certain.

[ Which wouldn't change even if Metallica was able to act properly... ]

I've also presumed that the clouds haven't been an intentional consequence of the Captain's actions. I believe this because of the timing of their arrival. After we, as a group, had an enlightening discussion about the status of the dead and our wish to honor them, the very next week they appeared, and I don't believe it's a coincidence.

[ ...The 'enlightening discussion' was code for 'their talk with Calypso' without him saying as much just in case it'd benefit them not to say as much. ]

It would be quite a strange coincidence, ja? It does seem more likely that they're related... but how, we don't really have any way of knowing just yet.

[Maybe the dead are causing it... But that involves acknowledging that the dead are not actually dead and dear god Yeager's got enough issues without getting into that one.]

Unfortunately, I don't think there's much we can do at this point, other than wait and see what happens.

[ ...That was something Risotto himself had a hard time with as well. He's still very much firm in the idea that people couldn't be brought back to life.

Though contact of people from beyond the grave was another story entirely. ]

...Yes. I suppose it's fortunate that most of us seem to be rather patient individuals.

[ Honestly, if not for the fact he was willing to wait to get vengeance, he'd have absolutely tried to do something already against the Captain. ]

Patient and pragmatic. We really could have ended up with a worse group here.

[Probably because a lot of the nice ones have already died, tbh......]

We certainly could've.

More than a handful have also proven themselves to be relatively tolerable.

[ And fewer still who've managed to be a bit past that, in his personal opinion. He wasn't expecting too much initially from a group who had been kidnapped and put in a life or death situation.

He had anticipated more people to panic and become generally intolerable as they prioritized their lives. Somehow, some form of organization had happened instead, however. And deaths still happened...but y'know. ]

[ Yeager, never change.

He's trying not to look amused, but it definitely reached his eyes. ]

And if I said that you were? I do tend to seek your company rather often. I suppose I don't feel like lying about the matter, even if you happen to be playing around.

[Aww, Risotto's so cute... He's not going to say it aloud, but he is absolutely thinking it.]

I was, but I'll always take compliments when they're given! I've grown quite fond of you as well, Risotto~

[...It's definitely teasing, but also the truth!!]
deathmagnetic: (51)

[personal profile] deathmagnetic 2021-03-11 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
[ You know...that was actually nice hearing that, even if he could tell there's some teasing in there. ]

You're ridiculous.

[ The words were said as if he was bothered, but he really wasn't, judging by the little smile. Though it also helped the tone was light as well. ]

I'd say not many would dare to say that to an assassin like myself, but it'd be silly for me to in this instance.

[Risotto isn't super expressive, and that's perfectly fine. The fact that he's smiling at all gives it away!!]

It certainly would! You may not be one of mine, but that doesn't change anything - you do have all of the qualities I look for in a member of Leviathan's Claw, after all!

[ He's considering those words, which made him feel...happy? No, it was appreciative and contemplative. Maybe a little flattered to hear those words stated; slightly different from the ones said last week.

Last week, Yeager had made an offer in mostly a jest, but once again also really couldn't see himself sticking with Passione, no matter what kind of choice he'd make. He still wanted to take care of unfinished business, but...after that?

There'd be nothing. And he enjoyed being in the other man's company a lot more than he thought he would. ]

I considered it. Working alongside you outside of this place, that is.

If you're serious about it, after I'm done taking care of my business, and there's still a way to go to your world...I would take you up on your offer.

[ He supposed the implication was there in his words last week, but he felt more certain about it now. When it sounded less like a joke now, though Risotto knew the man had more or less recognized he was worth more than his ex-Boss realized. ]

Oh?

[Truthfully, he had expected Risotto to turn him down at the end of all of this - while his performance here has been admirable enough, it's not like Yeager's the shining example of a great boss or anything. Besides, Risotto has his revenge to get - and after that? Well, it would be easier to remain in his own world, wouldn't it?

But without anything left to tie him down... Well, starting over isn't a bad option at all, really.]

I'd like that. Truly. Once you've handled your revenge - and assuming we have the option - I'd be glad to welcome you to Leviathan's Claw. Though I must admit I'm not exactly sure what things will be like in Terca Lumireis... we were at a rather crucial point in time when I was dragged here. Either way, Leviathan's Claw will find a way to persevere; I'm not interested in giving up just yet.

[It may be very difficult depending on what Alexei's done in his absence - assuming the plucky orphans weren't successful in stopping him, which does seem pretty likely - but that's a challenge he's willing to overcome now.]
deathmagnetic: (45)

[personal profile] deathmagnetic 2021-03-12 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
[ Starting over wasn't something Risotto had given much thought to. It wasn't because he hadn't thought he'd have made it through in order to make it happen in the first place...he just didn't have the time to consider it before.

And didn't want to even think about it before he dealt with that man. But after spending weeks here, he may as well have thought seriously about it. ]

I'm pleased to hear it. Not only because you're amenable to myself joining in that ideal scenario. Giving up doesn't suit you or either of us, regardless of how difficult the circumstances have been.

[ Someone may think his comment presumptuous, but really, Yeager had his important people. And there were other reasons to be motivated other than revenge. ]

[For a moment, he considers correcting Risotto. But... does it really matter what he was like when he arrived here when he's already decided that he's not giving in until the Captain lies dead? It doesn't, he decides, so instead he nods.]

Ja, so let's see this through to the end, shall we?
