Another week, another three gone in the case alone, not to mention Chloe earlier in the week. Even as you gain access to another floor, the ship by now must be starting to feel more empty than ever. It's been a long time by now, approaching two months.

Where do you think you'll be, in two months more time?

No, I dropped the little PDA thing in the ball pit and I was looking for it.

[He says this with absolutely no shame or embarrassment. Don't drop your electronic ID on your face while you're lying in the ball pit and then flail around, flinging it into the depths of hell. That's the moral here.]

[At least Data's not affected by any of the discomfort or grossness of being submerged in the ball pit!]

Nah, I found it. [He holds it up.] The pit is weirdly deep, though. Do you think kids actually like this stuff?

I cannot say. I was never technically a child, and I did not find things enjoyable at any rate. But they do seem like reasonably popular attractions.

Huh. Must be something kids like about then. [Scott climbs out of the ball pit.] Personally I think it's like a worse version of a pool.

I have observed that many organic creatures, sapient or otherwise, are very entertained by balls. Ball games are extremely common across many cultures.
