Another week, another three gone in the case alone, not to mention Chloe earlier in the week. Even as you gain access to another floor, the ship by now must be starting to feel more empty than ever. It's been a long time by now, approaching two months.

Where do you think you'll be, in two months more time?

[Reika is trying to be there today. Jack could take care of herself in a situation like this. She should be able to, anyway. Killing an entire ship wouldn't be impossible either for her child.

That spirit. Alice. Would the others treat her like them? As some sort of demon that didn't deserve a chance? Reika... didn't know. Did it matter? No. Still. She just sort of drifts through various activities on the ship. You can probably find her in a lot of places today but she focuses herself in one area.

The kitchen. She doesn't stress bake but there is sure a savory scent of meat being cooked today. Meatloaf, hamburg steak, a long simmering stew... Reika is a busy beaver! She does try her meals but she doesn't really eat them, leaving them out for others. She just sort of sits with her device.]

I never was that great of a cook but you always enjoyed it anyway... I only wish I could have learned more for you. [Is she talking to her device? Yes.]

[If Yeager got his daughters threatened, then the other person he knows has kids would possibly...

Perhaps that's why he looked for Reika until he found her in the kitchen. Talking to her device, it seems. To the photo, perhaps? Hm...

...I dunno that much about cooking, but...it looks good and smells good. That's gotta be a good sign!

I was trying to appetizers and I just ended up making dinners. How are we going to eat all this?

[Filbo can't help but sneak a glance at the picture. So that's Jack...he's not sure what he expected, but it probably wasn't this]

We could--we could leave them for tomorrow if it can be frozen somehow. You know, if...you're still up for that. Things have kinda gotten rough, so if you changed your mind that's fine.

I'm surprised he hadn't already but I suppose it was too much to think he'd have limits.

[Some parent he must have been. He probably didn't actually care about Lorna, either.]

Wouldn't that mean maybe he doesn't actually have a way to capture them? Because if he did, he'd have done this sooner. I-I think the photos probably are real, but that doesn't mean he can actually reach them!

[Yeager did say that if he wanted this to truly have punch, it'd have made the hostages already be on a ship like this one. He's not wrong about that, thinks Filbo!]

It's...hard to believe, but I do hope that's the case too.

...don't give up. You'll be back with her--with them. Keep holding your head up, alright?

[And preferably without killing anyone, but really, as much as Filbo hates to admit it, in the very likely case somebody kills he can't really blame them. Jack's threat is serious and very worrying. Still, that doesn't mean he won't do whatever he can in the trial, though]

The Captain...he really is. I mean, messing with us is one thing, but messing with loved one is just gonna make people want to defeat him even harder.

[Maybe that's why he didn't try this earlier, because he knew the less people around, the less likely it'd be the collective anger would sink the boat or something]

[ She's definitely been drawn in by the smells! Nobody think about the horror inherent to a human sized duck with a goddamn bill just eating meatloaf, it's fine. ]

[ Unfortunately, Magica will! But only after a lot of inspecting the food up close, which is honestly the only way she can do it with a line of sight so close to the countertops. ]

When it comes to killing, Jack the Ripper is the sort of person who thrives on it. Those children will be fine.

Regardless, if your adoptive spirit child isn't going to be traumatized by the experience, who cares? Just feel some dull annoyance or whatever it is you normally do.

[She picks up her device and flips to Constantine's profile and flashes it at Magica.]

What do you think idiots like this will think of an evil spirit that's far worse than the one that possessed Lorna?

Eugh, just because a bunch of self-righteous drips have survived this long doesn't mean everyone's loved ones are boring.

More importantly — can they help it? Do they know what they're doing? Because sentimental fools don't want to believe monsters are real. They're ready to excuse just about anything as long as they can project enough onto it.

[Reika is about to say something then shuts her mouth.]

If they thought Jack couldn't help it they'd just exorcise her to 'save' her. Those sentimental fools don't know anything how the real world works.

First off, someone's going to kill over this motive, so it's a moot point what actions they might or might not take. I'd rather it not be you, but who can say what Thursday has in store?

[ She's added the "don't get me wrong I would sell your soul for a corn chip" caveat with Reika at least once, so she doesn't bother now. Instead, she looks like she's about to say something and then swallows it, twice. ]

[ Honestly after learning that Magica's idea of a nice memory where she was reined-in was "flashback where she's on board with turning people into turnips and then eating the turnips", this checks out, it's adorable! ]
