Another week, another three gone in the case alone, not to mention Chloe earlier in the week. Even as you gain access to another floor, the ship by now must be starting to feel more empty than ever. It's been a long time by now, approaching two months.

Where do you think you'll be, in two months more time?

[...Because it's not Zero's handwriting. Leaning against a table near the center of the lounge is Constantine, his hands gripping the edge so tightly that his knuckles are white. He casts a measured gaze across the small gaggle of people that have gathered, and he can't help but note how much smaller these meetings seem to have become.]

I think I might know how Jack brought us here.

[He pauses, casting his gaze down towards the ground.]

I went up to his office to take a look around, see what I could find. On his desk was a blueprint of some sort. Couldn't make out a whole lot of details without him noticing, but it...looked like a gateway machine to connect different dimensions. Had the initials R.L. on them. I don't know if he's building it, or if he's already built it, but he's clearly got plans for it. And it lends a certain credibility to this week's motive.

Did you see any instructions or stuff? Because if we're gonna go back once we defeat him then we'll need to figure out how this thing works.

[Saying 'once we defeat him' because really, he doesn't want to use 'if'. Gives more certainty when you speak as if it was inevitable]

If I'm bein' honest, I'm not the right kind of person to ask about this kind of technical stuff. But I'm sure if we see it, we'll be able to figure it out.

[Like, you know. Have Data look at it. And that's it.]

How hard could it be?

I will take a look at it, if we have the opportunity. Ordinarily I would work with a science team, but the theory is, at least, not unknown to me.

You've probably got the best shot of understanding it out of any of us, mate.

Believe me, mate, if praying was gonna get us outta here, we would've been gone long ago.

[he probably is completely misinterpreting what zaveid is saying...]

I was saying my experience is with magic, and that machines aren't something I know anything about.

[You ever just realize that you completely misinterpreted reading something--anyways, Constantine lets out a sharp grumble, crossing his arms.]

You know, if you really need to know something about my world, you could always ask.

The Captain can see everything we do and listen in to our conversations. He uses the cameras to do it.

I was thinking about mapping out the cameras to look for blind spots, think that would help?

The bathrooms are a huge blind spot. Though, admittedly we can't do everything in there.

He'll put cameras anywhere we stay too long. It's best to keep it for emergencies.

It'd definitely be of some use. I'd try and keep that information on the down low, though, in case he gets any ideas on using that to fill in the blind spots...

I can do that.

[If there's one thing he's good at, it's being sneaky.]

Magic and technology? He seems to be crossing a lot of wires here.

And what day was this?

Monday. Last week. Didn't want to just go blabbing my mouth the instant I left his office.

So it wasn't left out specifically to lend credence to this week's motive, unless he's suddenly gotten so shrewd he could anticipate us making it through last week. Good to know!

If I'm bein' honest, I don't think he has the brains to make that kind of chess move.
