Another week, another three gone in the case alone, not to mention Chloe earlier in the week. Even as you gain access to another floor, the ship by now must be starting to feel more empty than ever. It's been a long time by now, approaching two months.

Where do you think you'll be, in two months more time?

The clouds have begun to gather around the ship, this week.

It really is! We probably wouldn't have been able to catch anything while on this boat anyway. No fish would dare get close to something so big that's moving right on the surface -- we're lucky everything is ready for us already.

[Well, if the fishes have survival instinct they wouldn't, really. Who knows when it's about fishes.

Filbo crouches near Kissa, looking into the tank as if being closer to her height would make him see anything he hasn't seen already. Nope, everything is still the same]

Not that this cat would care if she had to try to reach anything in here by herself, right?

Probably not. I think she can get fish if she needs to, but she usually hunts mice for food.

[Kissa startles a bit when she sees Filbo there, but soon she un-poofs and is meowing and trying to jump up on Filbo's shoulder. Fuzzy friend!]

Flayn and I tried fishing, the week we had no food. We weren't able to catch anything. So you're right, they stayed far away from the boat.

[When Kissa tries to get on him Filbo freezes, letting the cat get on him. Oh, better not move, he has an animal on his shoulder. Somehow, that makes him feel a little proud -- Kissa wasn't rejecting his presence, that had to count for something!]

That's too bad...some fishes could have been good back then.

[Oh well]

At least the cats are doing well. This one looks kinda lively! It's been a month since the first time I saw her and she seems to be doing great so far!

[The people may be dying and suffering, but the cats are a-okay and that's something to be glad about]

[Kissa is not rejecting him at all! In fact, she's purring and rubbing against Filbo. He's fluffy and warm and Kissa appreciates that.]

She's a survivor, she'll do fine. We found her out in the Silent World and she's tagged along with us since.

She's a good judge of character too. If she's purring, then that means you're a good person.

Wow, I have received approval!

[He really does feel honored, hah. This is the best moment of the week so far, no contest. Filbo pets Kissa's head. Pat pat!

...wait a second...]

Lalli, do I look like a cat to you?

[Took you long enough, Filbo, how did it take you almost an entire week to realize last afterparty Lalli was doing to you what you're doing to Kissa right now.

Still, he suspects the answer most likely is 'no', but hey, he's not going to rule out that maybe Lalli sees him as some large cyan cat for some reason despite not looking at all like one]

No.

[The answer is immediate, and is followed by a short pause. Wait for it, Filbo, just wait for it...]

You look like a Filbo.

[He doesn't mean that literally, of course. He just doesn't know the name of Filbo's species. But the answer ends up being unintentionally poignant.]

[For a moment Filbo stares at Lalli while those words sink in, hah]

...that's one of the best things I have been told around here, kinda.

[Pffft unintentionally poignant, this is truly a novelty, hah]

[Lalli isn't sure why that's one of the 'best things', but okay. He's glad he could help Filbo, even if he doesn't quite get how he helped Filbo.]

Mhmm. So keep being Filbo, okay?

[Hah! Better to be accidentally very encouraging than to accidentally offend, really]

[Apparently Filbo puts way too much stock on Lalli's social skills, goodness gracious]
