Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

It's now been a week since you were all captured. Perhaps you've already settled in. Perhaps you're already confident that you'll make it out of New Rapture alive. How serious about this could Mayor Fontaine possibly be, really?

While there still may not be much to do in your little hotel bubble, you've at least been granted a little more now - some kind of mysterious room and a sizeable library of all things. And in all the places you've looked so far, you've found valuable information, and even learned some of the story of New Rapture along the way.

[It definitely looked way more realistic than their own holograms, but given the advancements made in that field recently, it may not be long before they can come up with something similar. Fascinating...]

But a word can soothe one's heart sometimes. I believe as long as she knows you're here, it will be encouraging -- for both of you.

Correct. Augmented reality -- projected right into your eyes. Had someone walked into us at any time, they would have seen you talking at empty air.

[She regularly does it with her partner, although not exactly the same because she can send the image directly into his brain. These days have been the first time she uses such projection function with other people]

[ ... ] I mean, obviously at first I assumed you were a witch, but then you explained the age and it was like, "Oh, does she think I just got here from the 13th century?" But now, in context... makes a lot more sense, you know?

Indeed. It is a fate I would not wish on my own worst enemies... which is mostly because I would relentlessly slaughter them on the battlefield instead, but the point stands.

[At first, Jonathan's face flushes due to embarrassment, wondering if Obi was laughing at him for being so trusting.

But when Obi starts explaining himself he finds himself smiling.]

Oh... well it's clear your Master and Lady have great sense of judgement, if that's the case. It's no wonder it's happened again.

[His smile wanes a little, but he looks at Obi with determination.]

I... know that I do not have the fighting capabilities that you have, but I would like to extend the offer to you as well. I refuse to let anyone hurt you while we're here.

...Ah. Well, that's... That's certainly fair enough. I suppose one doesn't earn a name like that for no reason.

[He does look a tad panicked thinking about Mina in the same room as a cannibal, though.

[ Nandor nods while giving a disgusted huff, then mutters: ]

You see how sweaty he looks? It has already started.

Oh. Maybe you should clarify that to the people when you are talking about coffins, then...?

[Sure Jonathan is much weaker than Obi but his heart is in the right place.]

I refuse to allow any corpses to pile up on our watch! Our energy would be much better devoted to finding an escape out of here.

He gets closer to the glass and presses his face against it... But alas, he can't make out enough detail. Too minute for his eyes.

So he backs off. ] Do you see any ventilation in that room?

[God, he was right. He was absolutely right and there was nothing Jonathan could say that could refute this.

He stops struggling and is instead overcome with complete despair. He covers his face to hide his tears.]
