FIRST TRIAL

[ After a while, once all the appropriate clues have been found, Mayor Fontaine calls out again over the speakers. ]

Alright, citizens, pack it in quick and head to the back of the Hall of the Founders. You have business to take care of.

[ When they do reach the Bathysphere station, Eleanor is manning the controls, gaze quiet and even over the crowd. The hatch at the front of the strange elevator is open, and everyone is gestured inside. A series of small submerisbles are lined up, waiting to be ridden. ]

Just hop into the bathyspheres one or two at a time, and the system will get you where you need to go.

[ It's a long, cramped ride from here, but Fontaine's word is true. At least you can tune into the radio in the pod?

The bathyspheres take you down until even the few lights of Rapture are out of sight, down until lights of a different kind are visible - the reds and blues of bioluminescent sea creatures, a little too out of your way to make out what they are, blending to a strange sort of not-quite-purple as the bathysphere reaches its final destination: a glass dome built into the sea floor, about the size of an average house.

As one by one the bathyspheres arrive carrying the new citizenry of New Rapture, less natural lights than those of the creatures around you begin to click on in the dome. In the center, most of the space is taken up by a circle of podiums, each with an image of one of you engraved into it.

A projector of some kind kicks on, which combined with the lighting allows for the familiar silhouette of Mayor Fontaine at his chair to appear on the side of the dome, watching over you. ]

Time to do your best to figure out who killed the Diamond in the Rough. And do yourselves a favor: keep it interesting. I'm here if you have any burning inquiries.

Either Blue Tang or the culprit, maybe! Coulda been thinkin' about what they were goin' to do and literally couldn't stomach it.

It's a pretty normal order. I'm sure some people wouldn't have gone for that sort of meal, though. [not to stereotype or anything but like. she's not seeing someone like jason ordering that.] But it wouldn't have surprised me to see Adaman-san having it.

He was out patrollin' from the sounds of it... But that doesn't mean he couldn't've gotten hungry and decided to take a break, I guess.

Yeah, fair. And then something happened to prompt him to leave it there, maybe.

Someone else who was out late, perhaps? It might help if we were to try to put together a rough timeline of events.

At an indeterminate time, Adaman chose to leave his room and suite, perhaps to patrol and find someone who may be in danger or may be planning something with ill intent. His route cannot be determined either -- however there's something I must wonder.

If Adaman did encounter someone while he patroled this late at night, how would he react? Would he keep his guard up, or would he try to be welcoming and not suspect something was wrong?

[He...maybe didn't ever think his own life was in peril, but who knows]

I am curious about that as well, but unfortunately, I'm not sure we can really determine that one way or another.

I would have to assume it'd be the former, if he was out patrolling in the first place. Unless it was someone that so far hasn't come off as one to try and murder, it seems strange that he'd be caught unawares, given how he's acted up until now.

If he wasn't a complete idiot, he'd have his guard up.

Though, how long that would last depended on how his killer first approached him.

Yeah- Blue Tang seemed like the kinda guy to give someone the benefit of the doubt. The killer coulda been patient enough to wait until his guard was a bit down and struck.

[ He never spoke to him but he had the look of a goody-two-shoes, so... ]

I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case.

Yeah! Maybe he heard something, or someone he trusted got his attention?

[That last bit sounds fucked up, but it wouldn't be the first time it's happened in a case for him...]

It would be wise for the killer to at least put up a ... façade, if they were looking to get someone's guard down.

Maybe... he does seem the type to order somethin' like that. But I did show Blue Tang how to operate the restaurant machine once, too. I woulda thought he'd order somethin' else, unless he just wasn't up for eating much.
