Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

Another week, another motive, another trial. Even without a literal time loop, it's easy to start to feel stuck in something of a rut. Though vandalism parties and the like can help shake the feeling somewhat, it's only natural to start going a little... stir-crazy, don't you think?

Fortunately for you, another week brings another new section of New Rapture to investigate. This one is the biggest yet! And look at that fun theme park. And a bar!

Seven of you are dead, but eighteen of you remain. What you do to try to escape is up to you, but at least following :)'s advice gets you coins for stuff, you know?

[ It's a poster for a production of Macbeth, advertised as Starring Two of the Founders, On Stage Together for the Very First Time! ]

[Oh! An absolute classic!

He examines the poster more. Is there a a picture of the Founders on there?]

[ There is! This fellow, one Count Olaf, appears to be playing Macbeth (and directing, wow!), and this charming-looking woman, one Kronya, is Lady Macbeth!

The poster has also, it happens, been defaced, which is the more relevant part to your situation. ]

[...Huh

Defaced in what way?]

[ Someone has painted MURDERER in sloppy red paint over this poster! How rude. ]

[He frowns. Jonathan wonders, briefly, why this sticks around when their own vandalism vanishes after one day. But! It's an important thing to keep in note: don't trust these guys.

Anything else of note?]

[ There are a number of constants to life here in New Rapture. A motive a week. A murder a week. A new area a week. You are alone.

There are some variables, as well. What the motives are. Who you'll see, when you go somewhere. But usually, when you're investigating, there's a constant: you're alone.

As you turn away from the poster, Jonathan, you are no longer alone. ]

It's quite the performance, I'm sure.

[Who the fuck are these two]

Had been. [A man, sharply dressed, interjects.] Probably.

Or was. [The woman, equally appareled, regards the same poster with muted curiosity.] In any case, I doubt it shall ever play again.

[Jonathan shouts in surprise in fear at these two strangers appearing behind him. Were they allies of Fontaine? He wasn't sure, but he takes a good moment staring at them to make sure he wasn't just hallucinating this before he speaks.]

Who... who are you two?

[They don't seem to be phased by Jonathan's fear, not in the slightest.]

Who is an interesting question.

A better question than "what", I suppose.

We are simply where we are needed-

-And needed where we are.

[That's so cryptic he hates this!]

... Might I ask why you are needed here?

[mirrorofme]

Indeed.

[A pointed look at the man.]

"When our actions do not,"

"Our fears do make us traitors." The bard, dear? Really?

It seemed only appropriate.

I wouldn't make a habit of it.

[ The Undertaker had been poking around in the back room when he heard an odd set of voices... And not just the similar tones, no. Two unfamiliar voices in an inescapable prison.

He opens the door, poking his head out and watching Jonathan conversing with the two... Identical strangers... ]

Odd... [ His old eyes fail to tell the two apart, they're so similar in appearance, but their voices sound like a man's and a woman's. This is... Very new.

He makes an effort to keep quiet as he walks up behind Jonathan to address these two... Sorry, pal. ]

I say... You two have a way of intervening with things... [ Smirk. ] I kinda like that, assuming you're on our side that is.

[Jonathan waves at The Undertaker.]

I.. I am afraid I'm unsure if they are on "our side" or not. Uh, are you on our side?

[mirrorofme]

That's awfully pedantic.

What Rosalind is trying to say... is yes. I suppose we are. In any case, we're certainly no friends of your mayor.

Or of this whole blighted ordeal.

[giddyundertaker]

Who would be? I don't see how anyone would be happy to partake in kidnapping people and making them stab each other.

[ And this is coming from the most morbid person here! ]

[hotpaprika]

[Jonathan wants to point out that Eleanor is openly working for Fontaine, and he assumes the other Founders at least tolerated some of his ideals to work with him, but he decides that not particularly relevant.]

Well that's wonderful! Are you here to rescue us from this horrid prison?

[mirrorofme]

That may be for you to decide. [The woman clears her throat. It's clear she's already tired of this.] There is work to be done.

I suppose that is all we had to say at the moment.

[giddyundertaker]

[ He playfully scoffs. ] Of course. Nothing comes for free, does it?

[ He likes these two. As vague as they are, it reminds him of himself. Perhaps they may be prone to similar habits in the way of selling information. ]

And what might you ask of us for a bit of assistance from you? Something material, or something else?

[hotpaprika]

[Jonathan, however, is quickly becoming impatient with these people. Why do they keep running into people who claim to be allies but then seem to do nothing to actually help?

Ugh, maybe he's just being pessimistic. He runs a hand through his hair and exhales.]

Yes, I would do just about anything to get rescued right about now.

[mirrorofme]

A price tends to be customary.

Not that we will be asking for any tribute for our endeavors - unlike your mayor.

It's difficult for one to want for something when one has virtually everything. Something I'm certain your Fontaine fails to understand.

A shame there's no want for an exit to this place. Might make your escape much easier.

[giddyundertaker]

Hm.

Perhaps that's because we found one that been kept inaccessible to us? I recall finding that bathysphere that had a control panel... Outfitted with locks?

[ He turns to face Jonathan for a moment. ]

Unless you refer to some alternate means of escape.

[hotpaprika]

[He nods in agreement, but flicker of excitement crosses his face.]

Do you have one? We're getting quite desperate for an escape!

a bathysphere would prove an efficient means of egress from an underwater city.

Our method, on the other hand, requires a tad bit more... finesse.
