Week 5
Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.
Another week, another motive, another trial. Even without a literal time loop, it's easy to start to feel stuck in something of a rut. Though vandalism parties and the like can help shake the feeling somewhat, it's only natural to start going a little... stir-crazy, don't you think?
Fortunately for you, another week brings another new section of New Rapture to investigate. This one is the biggest yet! And look at that fun theme park. And a bar!
Seven of you are dead, but eighteen of you remain. What you do to try to escape is up to you, but at least following :)'s advice gets you coins for stuff, you know?

INVESTIGATION
Starting off would he actually recognize the scenery? He has an extensive knowledge of architecture so he could pin it down if needed.
But after investigation, he finds himself drawn to the Night Club. The lights almost immediately overwhelm him, but he perks up when he notices the bar.]
Oh goodness! I feared that Fontaine would never provide us with drink!
[He practically runs to the bar and pours himself a glass of wine and he takes a long, gracious sip of it, feeling his body relax. After a moment he peaks his head back out the door to everyone around.]
Wondrous news, everyone, we no longer have to remain sober here!
[He might already be a little tipsy.
The Night Club somewhat distracts Jonathan from the rest of his investigation as he makes his way to the Backroom, his eyes immediately drawn to the violin.]
Oh, it feels like an eternity since I've played!
[He picks it up, finds himself a nice corner in the backroom to sit, and begins playing, it's a tiny bit rusty, but it's full of love and heart as he plays.]

This wondering turns into wandering and soon the Undertaker finds himself in The Count's Theater and Very Fine Dining to find... Where do they keep the film reels again?
When he's done poking around The Count's, he wanders across the street and goes into the nightclub. ]
Huh. They have another one of these?
[ Well, it's close enough to a jukebox. Has the same music... Maybe not everyone wants to hear him play Lazslo and Nadja again, so he decides to scroll through the selection and play something that seems promising. At full blast.
Hope people like moving their dead bones. ]

Forrest had been in an acceptable mood last night, all things considered; it'd gotten better after he's made things good with Dandy, and his conversations later in the night were all fine.
But this morning he feels strange for several reasons as he gets up and gets ready for the day. The dress he arrived in fits him somewhat oddly now; has he lost weight? It's probably fine; he just makes a note to eat something when he's downstairs. He tends to forget, after all.
Granted, once that's taken care of he'll be in the new areas, looking around for a little while before deciding that it's a little...much? The theme park is abjectly terrifying and he'd prefer not to go near it (he can just imagine that someone's going to die in there, caught in mechanical jaws, and the thought creeps him out beyond belief); the rest is...fine, he supposes, though the stage in the theater seems sort of fun?
He's never been an actor or a performer, but he'll get up just for the sake of messing around a little to entertain himself; anyone wandering around near there during certain parts of the day can hear singing? It's not very good singing, it's clearly just someone seeing what the acoustics can do and just amusing themselves a little as opposed to anything genuinely decent or trained, and eventually he stops and kind of laughs a little at himself.]
That sounds so much better when Azura does it.
[After that, though... Well, he's in the nightclub and he's sort of poking around the bar, whether he should be or not; honestly, he sort of figures that if he's old enough to be here in the first place then he's old enough to drink, but he's honestly not rebellious enough to just start on his own.
So for now he's just poking around the bottles, and he's checking out whatever setup they have for the music, and- oh jesus he's discovered nadja and laszlo, he's going to spend the next several minutes trying to undiscover nadja and laszlo...]

Investigation
Since he's feeling in good form after kicking some ass during the trial, he's going to investigate the dark ride. Is he going to ride the boats? Well... maybe once, just to see what the intended experience is supposed to be. But after that, he's going to try and do some Deep Investigation on the various scenes. He can definitely jump there, it's cool. If you get on the dark ride and see Gaius poking around the scenes say hello and wave. You know, in between sloppy makeouts, because what else are dark rides for.
After that, he's going to chill out and poke around Swimmin', but when he finds nothing of interest, he's just going to chill out and watch the show. It's probably fine to just relax and enjoy some edutainment, right? He is taking notes, at least, because he doesn't know what the fuck about the Atlantic Ocean. When the show's over, he just kind of nods in satisfaction.]
...I know not if that was accurate, but it should not be difficult to confirm. I am surprised it was... of any quality whatsoever.
[You know, instead of some gaudy piece of shit.
But yeah, once it feels late enough, he heads to the nightclub and pours himself something stiff. It's kind of a shame there isn't a bartender, but the ambiance is nice. If he gets to mess around with the jukebox, he'll kind of... cock his head at a song title but put it on regardless, and... hey, it's nice? It's nice. It's good for having a nice quiet drink.]

She flashes a cheeky grin at any of her suitemates around, holding a finger to her lips as she slinks off to make herself coffee as quietly as she can.
After that, she's off to the races-- and by races? I mean she's off to investigate the new areas. Of particular interest to her is the mystery zone. Sure, there are stairs inside, but that door's locked (as brett proves...in.... the future?), so she's busy standing outside, staring up, trying to figure out if there's a way for her to climb the side of the building. Which, like. The woman's from Gotham. So you never know.
But the rest of the day? It shouldn't shock anyone to find Zinda behind the bar at the nightclub, the jukebox playing some... uncharacteristic tunes for Zinda, but whatever. She seems to have been here for a while, but she seems to have a pretty good head on her shoulders-- the only sign she might be intoxicated is the slightly better mood than usual. She'll wave down anyone who enters.]
Check this place out! It was hard to imagine anyone bein' in the mood to party here, but now that I see this... I get it!

His spirits stay high as he traipses back to Suite 1, humming something under his breath that might or might not be Kokomo, and he continues to be disgustingly positive as he goes about his day, which he's actually staying awake for most of. In fact, prompts aside, he might just start engaging you in conversation for no reason! Once he's showered and dressed decently, he starts just throwing a bunch of junk out of his room into the common area. All of it seems to have been pre-organized by function, since, despite his incredible carelessness in divesting himself of it, it's coming out in a definite order! To suitemates witnessing this pile of useless shit growing ever higher, he offers: ]
Would you like first dibs on any of this before I take it outside?
[ Whatever remains of the junk pile gets unceremoniously dumped in the lobby with a bespoke paper note reading PLEASE TAKE, and then it's time to check out the new areas! He enters without permission this time, because apparently that was also completely self-enforced, and is quickly captivated by the nightclub. Why, it's almost as though he's gazing into one of the central features of his own as-yet-unaired future....... ]
Oh, this is nice...
[ And maybe it's Brett having mentioned a key yesterday, but for once, he decides to actually investigate the area for clues instead of just looking around! Starting by checking out what's behind the bar. Maybe there'll be another message carved into the wood or something? Later, he returns to Mercury Mile, because you've gotta eat. Nandor spends the rest of the afternoon trying on clothes in the Department Store... which, uh, means he pulls one of the dressmaker's dummies out of the back room and just starts putting outfits together using it. Absolutely anyone who passes by is going to get a bright: ]
What do you think of this one?
[ The dummy outfits are almost universally midcentury-accurate suits and overcoats and shit, and the palette doesn't go any brighter than scarlet. There's a lot of heavy dark fabrics and a clear aesthetic, whether you're a fan or not... and absolutely none of that translates over to the basketball shorts and T-shirt Nandor himself is wearing right now. You know, just to streamline the changing process! ]

That might have brought down his entire day immediately, if the next pull he did - only half-paying attention, still looking at the photo - didn't bring a gallon of seawater crashing out, spilling over his feet and legs. He jumps back, photo clutched against his chest to keep it dry.]

[After getting cleaned up from that, he sets up a small yard sard in the lobby. He's sitting on the floor eating off a plate from the restaurant; apparently it's just a floor kind of day. Come by if you want anything from his pile!
Afterwards, he goes to look around Fontaineland again, just to make sure that it wasn't some sort of awful nightmare he had yesterday. It was not! Brett stands at the entry to the roller coaster, watching the empty cars come and go.]
Something very bad is going to happen this week, isn't it? [...] We should've held the vandalism for this place.
[Honestly? Would rather die lost in the woods!
Brett went to look at the dark ride too, of course. He even tried to take notes in there! But, having seen that all the robots were gone, he decides to go investigate the weird ??? garage. Maybe there's some old pieces in there? Or at least like, some stairs up to the creepy apartment, he's looking for those first.]

The rest of the day she's in the nightclub. Not that you'll see Mafuyu right away. There's definitely music playing, though. It's blasting from the jukebox, but at the same time... Actually, is that Mafuyu singing?
And with a little more searching... ah. Mafuyu's backstage. And she is, indeed, singing, playing along in time with the jukebox. She hasn't noticed she's not by herself yet, far too focused on the music.]

Before that though, he's checking out the Nightclub! It's pretty neat here, and quite the selection of songs! However, that's not all what you'll hear if you pop inside.
You'll see Floyd bopping away on a drum set he brought out, playing along to a song or two! He's pretty good!
Later on, he can be found in Fontaineland roaming around! His sights are immediately set on the rollercoaster, and if you happen to be in his field of vision, he will drag you along with him to get on it. ]
C'mon! Let's try the coaster!!!
[ After that thrill ride, he's going to check out the bumper cars! Both to ride on them and investigate! ]

When you all make your way into the room, the man speaks up, putting on his best Disappointed Dad tone. ]
You know what the trouble is with how many of you don’t trust me? Not that I blame you, God knows, but it gets so hard to make these weekly offers any kind of reward. I literally offer you superpowers and half of you think I’d slip you a faulty product.
[ His tone doesn’t actually sound that genuinely insulted, but he’s gonna keep going anyway. ]
So this week, we’re back to the stick from the carrot. Pretty simple, really… you’ve all been missing for a month now, back home, hm? Lot can happen in a month. … There’s a lot a fella like me can make sure happens in a month.
[ The screens flick from him to video footage of the worst possible timeline that could result from your character having been absent for the last month. Whether that’s “worst in general” or “worst to your character’s knowledge” is up to you. They’re also all flashing pretty much exactly where your character is looking, so seeing someone else’s? Tougher than you might think. ]
”For want of a nail, the shoe was lost.” Yeah, well, for want of a you? Might lose a little more a little quicker than that.
[ The mayor sighs. ]
Of course, you’re gonna want proof. I understand. You all wanna believe so bad that I’m lying every time I drop one of these things on you.
[ The mirrored wall shifts to transparent again, and behind it you see damaged and lost things important to your character, one each, in glass display cases. When last they left those things, they were fine! ]
Kill by Friday and I’ll make sure you can stop this.

He can't even find the man responsible to punish.
Something's bound to break, sooner or later. He just needs to make sure he's not the one breaking. Much harder than it looks, judging by how he seems to wander from place to place at random. You may find him near the jukebox at the Ice Cream parlor, playing a random song he found... On repeat. You might find him at the theater at one point, unspooling an entire roll of film for some weird reason. You might even find him just sitting by any window, staring blankly at the sea.
But the most concerning thing he does today is late at night, at the church. He's stolen a manikin from the department store, dolled it up like a proper young lady, and dragged it all the way in here to... Slow dance with it?! He's leaning his head on the manikin's shoulder, mumbling the words to that song he was listening to earlier... Are those tears streaking down his cheek?
Maybe someone should check on him before he goes completely insane. ]

He holds up a plastic toy of a robot dinosaur that may be recognised from way back in their first motive, and is looking at it with a sort of...pitying expression.]

[Alright. He's talking to a plastic toy. He needs distraction, and stat. He hits up the nightclub and - completely unfamiliar with any of these instruments - tries his hand at playing with them. By the sounds of it he should probably stick to the otamatone.
Exiting the nightclub and coming across the theatre gives him an idea, however - but not one he can do alone. He goes off in search of Dandy to grab the guy. The proposition is three words: Ad. Lib. Commentary.]

Wednesday, though, he seems a little more willing to venture out; he can be found in the department store sewing room, working on finishing up a few things he owes people - he's behind because he's been having a Time of it, but he's determined to get something done. ...He doesn't really like any of it, and he'll probably start over on a few things before he finishes. His work isn't erratic, but it's weird and distracted. Fitful, in ways.
Later that night, he can be found out on the patio; he's never been the artistic sort outside of his work with textiles, but given that he works with clothes specifically he's not terrible at drawing the human form. And that's what he seems to be doing; he's got a sketchbook and pencils from the art supply store, and he's drawing what looks like a young girl in a short, flared dress that looks to be at least partially armored; ribbons crisscross their way up her tall boots, and her admittedly rather large hair is tied up in thick, twisting ponytails.
He leaves her face blank, however; he doesn't think he could do her any sort of justice.]

[Ever since the motive Aiba has been pretty pensive. She has been pretty quiet, wandering around without much of a purpose -- not that anyone may have noticed, unless they were lucky to see her hamster form wandering around. At some point today, she comes across to the garden, and sits on some of the rocks there]
...one month so far. You were once a year without me, Date, but...
[But the Mayor's 'proof' really rattled her. Not so much because of how it was several AI-Balls destroyed -- and she identified those as her own self, the color of the eye proved it -- but because of what it represents. It's proof he's willing to meddle, and also that he might still have access to ABIS one way or another. It's pretty disquieting.
After some sitting around, she...decides to remember. She wanted pretty badly to hear her partner's voice she sifted through her memories and began playing the memory. The visuals aren't present, but the voices and sounds are echoing in the garden.
Seven minutes of Kaname Date's more caring side.
Once the memory ends, Aiba is quiet.
Meeting Room
Apparently listening to that memory didn't cheer Aiba very much. She wanders back to the Meeting Room, where she can see the different items that represent the Mayor's threat.
When someone enters the room, Aiba's human form appears, and she asks one question:]
Do you believe alternate timelines exist?
[Well, if Joy is the one who enters, Aiba immediately adds: 'wait, they probably do where you're from' because of course, haha]

In the afternoon he makes a trip to the vending machine to shove a whole bunch of coins into the machine. This is a yard sard besides the weapons (and the cat!), which he's keeping and providing color commentary about. ]
This isn't a very subtle way to tell me to switch classes... [ His nose wrinkles at the noxious " Eau de Seduction" that falls out next, which can horrifyingly be kind of smelt through the bottle. ] and this isn't a very subtle poisoning attempt.
