Week 5

Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

Another week, another motive, another trial. Even without a literal time loop, it's easy to start to feel stuck in something of a rut. Though vandalism parties and the like can help shake the feeling somewhat, it's only natural to start going a little... stir-crazy, don't you think?

Fortunately for you, another week brings another new section of New Rapture to investigate. This one is the biggest yet! And look at that fun theme park. And a bar!

Seven of you are dead, but eighteen of you remain. What you do to try to escape is up to you, but at least following :)'s advice gets you coins for stuff, you know?

You think it's safe?

[Brett's not actually resisting this as much as he could be - maybe he's squeamish, but he's not actually bothered by roller coasters! Still a tad doubtful of this specific one, though.]

Yeah! Well, as safe as it's gonna get.

[ He shrugs. ]

Look at it this way: Water Fountain guy is trying to keep us alive long enough for everyone else to duke it out with each other- I doubt he'd mess up any rides on purpose. Kinda defeats the purpose of this whole thing if we're done in by faulty amusement park rides, y'know?

[ Floyd, that is not as comforting as you think it is. ]

Anyways, coaster time~!

[inaclearing]

He could have made it easy to sabotage. I bet there's a button back there that just makes it derail.

[But Floyd's point is good and this isn't really the point in the week when there's usually murder attempts, so. Whatever, let's try out the coaster!]

[capreelcious]

Yeah, well, that's a problem for future riders if they decide to mess with it. Not like I know anythin' about fancy mechanical sabotage buttons. Besides, that would be kinda stupid and bad for business if it is that easy to mess with.

[ Floyd absolutely gets in the very front seat of the coaster. ]

Let's gooooo~!

[inaclearing]

I think encouraging murder is bad for business.

[Eh, he'll get in the front seat with Floyd then!]

How do we - oh, it's going. [so it is!]

[capreelcious]

You'd think, and yet we keep getting new locations.

[ The things Fontaine does for a city. Outside of this though, Floyd is grinning from ear to ear as the rollercoaster begins its ascent toward the first big drop! ]

Oooh, I'm excited!!!

[inaclearing]

[Brett grins back, more excited than he'd honestly thought he'd be. Something about adrenaline in a safe environment, perhaps, after all the real fear and stress of the past several weeks.

Going down the big drop, he yells - a fun roller-coaster yell, not a "god I wish I hadn't gotten on this roller coaster" one. When they're going back up, he takes the time and breath to admit:]

Okay, it is fun!

[capreelcious]

[ Floyd absolutely lets out a fun rollercoaster yell as well, and even dares to put his hands in the air! His laughter is infectious as he finds himself going back up! ]

Aha, right? I told ya~!

[inaclearing]

Ha ha, yeah!

[Brett's laughing, too.]

Here we go again!

[And they ride the roller coaster I guess!]

YEAAAAAAH~!

[ They absolutely do! And when it comes to a stop, Floyd hops out with a laugh, a little bit more wibbly wobbly than his normal sway. ]

Aha, that was fun~!

[inaclearing]

[Brett laughs as he steps out of the car, slightly more sedately.]

It was! Thanks for pushing me into it - I know I've been...

[He waves a hand idly, as if to indicate "depressed and withdrawn" in a vague hand gesture.]

No worries! It's fun to get outta your comfort zone~.

[ He snickers a little. ]

Lotsa people have been feelin' like that lately... me too. It's the best time for fun things~.

[inaclearing]

Probably. I've never been good at pulling myself out of that pit, though.

[capreelcious]

Well, you've got all of us still, so you're not alone here, yeah? There's always somethin' fun to do- you just gotta look hard enough.
