Week 5

Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

Another week, another motive, another trial. Even without a literal time loop, it's easy to start to feel stuck in something of a rut. Though vandalism parties and the like can help shake the feeling somewhat, it's only natural to start going a little... stir-crazy, don't you think?

Fortunately for you, another week brings another new section of New Rapture to investigate. This one is the biggest yet! And look at that fun theme park. And a bar!

Seven of you are dead, but eighteen of you remain. What you do to try to escape is up to you, but at least following :)'s advice gets you coins for stuff, you know?

INVESTIGATION

[The first thing Jonathan does when he wakes up is go explore any new possible areas, for any new information he can get. He starts out at The Count’s Theater and Very Fine Dining. He had never really heard of movies before, but the concept fascinates him and he is absolutely going to investigate the hell out of this place.

Starting off would he actually recognize the scenery? He has an extensive knowledge of architecture so he could pin it down if needed.

But after investigation, he finds himself drawn to the Night Club. The lights almost immediately overwhelm him, but he perks up when he notices the bar.]

Oh goodness! I feared that Fontaine would never provide us with drink!

[He practically runs to the bar and pours himself a glass of wine and he takes a long, gracious sip of it, feeling his body relax. After a moment he peaks his head back out the door to everyone around.]

Wondrous news, everyone, we no longer have to remain sober here!

[He might already be a little tipsy.

The Night Club somewhat distracts Jonathan from the rest of his investigation as he makes his way to the Backroom, his eyes immediately drawn to the violin.]

Oh, it feels like an eternity since I've played!

[He picks it up, finds himself a nice corner in the backroom to sit, and begins playing, it's a tiny bit rusty, but it's full of love and heart as he plays.]

A-L-C-O-H-O-L

Hawkah! Let’s go, Champ! [She won’t begrudge him for having some before letting her know. Not much, at least, as she hops over the bar.]

[If she points this out Jonathan will say that he wanted to make sure the alcohol was suitable but truthfully he was just excited.

Jonathan sits himself down at the bar and he absolutely Beams at Zinda as he continues to drink from his glass.]

The selection is quite impressive! I have not even heard of half these drinks before in my life.

[specialyellthing]

Well, now we've got somethin' to do, Champ. You can try em out! [...Girl may have an extremely high tolerance.]

[hotpaprika]

[He beams.]

That sounds like a wonderful idea! Could you surprise me with a drink?I"m afraid I would be stuck in indecision if I picked myself.

[specialyellthing]

I’ll do ya one better, and mix ya up something nice. Take a seat.

[and she sets about making a drink for him with—- whew. that sure is something.]

I gotta say, it’s good to see ya in high spirits.

[hotpaprika]

[Jonathan sits himself down, grinning sheepishly.]

I suppose it's nice to get anything to drink here. Even at Castle Dracula, I had a steady supply of good wine, although I couldn't indulge too much because I feared the Count taking advantage of my inebriated state. Besides the flask I found the first week here, I haven't had anything to drink!

[He pauses as he takes a sip of his wine.]

And I must say, I loathe Fontaine still, but I am quite happy with our selection of musical instruments as well! And I am quite excited to finally see one of these "movies". I was thinking of trying to get one playing after this.

Yeah. I suppose if nothin’ else, he’s provided us with an interesting prison. Don’t know why we didn’t just start with all of this, but… I guess that’s the point of it bein a reward.

[She looks morose for a few moments—- then smiles and pushes a Grasshopper across the bar to him.]

Here ya go, Champ. I hope you enjoy it, and the movies too.

[She always finds herself drawn to music. Classical isn't her style, not really, but she's still very familiar.]

Ah... Romance in A Major.

Mmm. It suits you, Harker-san.

[hotpaprika]

[Jonathan smiles gently as he stops playing.]

Oh, thank you Mafuyu! I've always been quite fond of this piece.

[He places down the violin.]

I assume you're proficient in some music as well? Your profile mentioned you being in a band.

[sastruga]

Mm, I'm in a group with some friends of mine. I'm in charge of mixing the music, writing the lyrics, and sometimes singing as well.

[hotpaprika]

All of that? Mafuyu you're so talented! I hope it is not rude ot ask, but I would love to hear you sing!

INVESTIGATION

[ The scenery is... woof, okay, so! It's not like. An uncommon style, necessarily, but it's nowhere he would recognize in particular. ]

[hotpaprika]

[Okay! So Jonathan recognizes the architecture type but not a particular building that it is supposed to resemble.

He gets a closer look at the set, trying to find anything else particular about them.]

[ Yup!

The set is established and ready - there are even a few props around, but nothing of particular note. However, on a wall near the stage, there is a poster that might catch Jonathan's eye. ]

[?

He's just going to take a closer look at that!]

[ It's a poster for a production of Macbeth, advertised as Starring Two of the Founders, On Stage Together for the Very First Time! ]

[Oh! An absolute classic!

He examines the poster more. Is there a a picture of the Founders on there?]

[inaclearing]

I feel like we're all about to develop some unhealthy coping mechanisms.

[He's joking. I mean, he's not, but also are any of us coping well to begin with?]

[hotpaprika]

[He grins like a dork.]

It could be a lot less healthy I suppose! I'm just thankful I have something to get my mind off all this death for a little bit!

[inaclearing]

Sure, I guess.

[It's a little worrying, maybe, but there's so much here to worry about that Brett can't really spare it much mind just yet. He wanders over to the bar, not going behind it just yet, but leaning to peer at the selection.]

What do you like?

[hotpaprika]

[Luckily Jonathan is going to calm down on drinking tomorrow he just got excited over getting something nice.]

I've always been partial to a good red wine, but I enjoy a good ale as well. How about you?

[inaclearing]

I like a good craft beer. [Of course you do.] Or a cider.

[please help me i don't drink beer lol]

[ The nightclub is so absolutely beyond not being Mielle's scene that it's almost kind of funny to see her milling around in there. She's only really doing her usual business of investigating all their new digs now that a new week has come around but the club has her feeling so out of her depth that it's a very visible relief for her to come staggering into the backroom – and across Jonathan. ]

Ah, Mister Harker... I didn't realize anyone was here... or that you played?

I should stay sober. Every time alcohol and me interact I tend to get...giddy.
