Week 5

Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

Another week, another motive, another trial. Even without a literal time loop, it's easy to start to feel stuck in something of a rut. Though vandalism parties and the like can help shake the feeling somewhat, it's only natural to start going a little... stir-crazy, don't you think?

Fortunately for you, another week brings another new section of New Rapture to investigate. This one is the biggest yet! And look at that fun theme park. And a bar!

Seven of you are dead, but eighteen of you remain. What you do to try to escape is up to you, but at least following :)'s advice gets you coins for stuff, you know?

[ Right away, before you even enter, you can hear that you're not the first one in here, which is evident by the muffled music from the jukebox.

Muffled until you open the door, that is. You can hear it pretty well once you're inside. ]

[She's about to nod at Floyd, but -- hey gang?

SHE KNOWS ONE OF THOSE VOICES----]

Sparkles? [with the tone of a woman who is about to ground a girl]

Ehh? What's goin' on?

[ He's familiar with that voice after hearing Mafuyu sing as well... The music's pretty loud- yeah, he's gonna go in after Zinda. ]

[ Maybe you'll have to yell a little louder. The jukebox is positively blaring.

Perhaps that's why the figure lying on the stage, lying halfway on her stomach and halfway on her side, doesn't stir. ]

[specialyellthing]

[yelling louder? Something she can always do. First, she tosses her head in Floyd's direction--]

Turn that damn racket off--

[And then she's racing to the stage, hauling herself up onto it]

HEY!

Yeah, on it!

[ Yeah absolutely, he's wincing as he goes to turn off the dang jukebox! ]

[ Fun fact, Floyd! You'll notice as you turn it off that this same song has been put into a playlist!

Except, whoever made this playlist probably doesn't have a lot of imagination...or at least a lot of variety. It's just Composing the Future four times. ]

Why's it a playlist...?

[ He mostly says this to himself out loud, but huh! That's really unusual... ]

[ No response.

The girl— no, let's not beat around the bush here, Mafuyu stays still even as Zinda shouts. She really does look peaceful in her cute purple library dress, face turned toward the audience, eyes shut as if in sleep.

Approach? ]

[uh, yeah!]

[ You bet he's approaching! ]

C'mon, Moon Jelly... you better wake up...

[ She doesn't. Sound still doesn't wake her. As you get closer, you can tell her skin is pale and clammy, and her lips... They're blue-ish purple in color. ]

[specialyellthing]

[WELP. TIME FOR CPR.]

[ She'll have to move Mafuyu for that, won't she? Not easy to do in this position. It's as she does that Zinda will discover, Mafuyu's very limp. It's almost as if... ]

[...well, let's not dwell on what ifs too much. As Zinda starts her CPR, the lifeless looking girl finally stirs, coughing. She's not looking so hot and her eyes are only barely open, staring blankly ahead. But, the most important thing:

Mafuyu is still alive.]

Holy fuckin shit, Sparkles! [Stirring is good, coughing is better. Zinda stops compressions pretty much immediately, instead gathering the girl into her arms.]

[sastruga]

H-Huh...?

[She blinks, looking up at Zinda. She looks... pretty confused, honestly.]

Zinda...?

[No "Blake-san" today, huh?]

[specialyellthing]

Y-yeah! It's me!

[The tears are probably a little confusing, since Zinda's not typically a public crier-- but her arms are kindof busy cradling Mafuyu.]

It's okay, girlie, I gotcha.

[sastruga]

You're crying...

[Oh. It feels a little weird, being held like this. This is... kinda like how moms do it, right?]

[capreelcious]

Well, yeah. We found you collapsed.

[ He brings the water over. ]

[sastruga]

Oh. So I broke a rule then... right?

[girl your priorities]

...Does that mean I'm a rebel now?

[it doesn't even count like this!]

Jeeze, Moon Jelly. Don't scare us like that!

[ Floyd let Zinda have all the space she and Mafuyu needed, and is back at the bar pouring a cup of water for Mafuyu. He doesn't know what to do in these situations, but water! helps! ]

[sastruga]

Ah... Did I...?

[She lifts her head up, slow. It makes her feel a little sick, but, well. Water probably WILL help with that.]

Sorry...

[ While Zinda's doing CPR, is there anything around that might tip Floyd off to whatever Mafuyu might have ingested, if anything? Because blue lips sure is a big concern! ]

[ Nothing. It's just Mafuyu here, looking as if she laid down to sleep. ]
