Week 5
Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.
Another week, another motive, another trial. Even without a literal time loop, it's easy to start to feel stuck in something of a rut. Though vandalism parties and the like can help shake the feeling somewhat, it's only natural to start going a little... stir-crazy, don't you think?
Fortunately for you, another week brings another new section of New Rapture to investigate. This one is the biggest yet! And look at that fun theme park. And a bar!
Seven of you are dead, but eighteen of you remain. What you do to try to escape is up to you, but at least following :)'s advice gets you coins for stuff, you know?

And how much does Grimsy mean to you? Or not mean to you.

[He fiddles with the toy some as he speaks.]
Cut to a few months later and Iβm trying to reason with the others why we should keep him, despite deciding weβre not going back home and the way he breaks a wall down every other week.
[A slight frustration slips into his tone.]
Iβm spending my time fighting a losing battle trying to rehabilitate him, get him back to being the βbot he once was, putting up with all kinds of -
[His arms drop to rest splayed on the floor.]
β¦βMore than expectedβ. Thatβs my answer.

Have you considered whether it's worth rehabilitating him? Not in the moral or value sense, per se, but more in the sense of that it's better to make use of what you have. You can change people and persuade them with enough effort, and sometimes a little magic~. But sometimes it's better to draw out their nature and use that instead.

...His nature is wanton destruction, so we don't have to do too much there.
[...]
But, if I'm being honest, the main reason I want to do this? Is because seeing him like this is just sad. I - [There's some resistance in his tone, but he's in the presence of Seo Dawon. He can afford to let down his emotional guard.] I just want him to be well, I guess.

Let me give you an example. Red Lotus has an alchemist, who is the best of his class. [ As if Seo Dawon would accept anyone who wasn't the best of the best. ] His nature is innocuous on the outside, but on the inside...the bounty on his head was worth several mansions in the first district. It would have been pointless for me to bail him out and expect him to reform on his own, not to mention that he had no desire to given his deposition.
Instead we found a compromise—he would no longer conduct illegal experiments on whatever stragglers came his way and refrain from certain procedures unless they were made known to me first. In exchange I provided for him subjects he could work on, and J covered 50% of his costs, 100% if the experiments resulted in a syntheization that was useful for Red Lotus. And I would provide him protection, of course.
It's an arrangement that's worked out well for us in that it lets him continue to embrace his nature, albeit in a more controlled way. If there's less recognition and logic though... well you'll need to speak for him in a sense. It's very possible he would improve with a proper outlet too. For an example of the latter, Vholran-ie, perhaps?
[ There's a reason he tried a vastly different approach than anyone else in dealing with him. ]

β¦I wish I could just put you down in front of Grimlock and leave the two of you to it. Youβd do a better job of it. All youβd need me for is to make sure he doesnβt take an arm off.

You'd trust me with him, Misfire-yah?

[ Usually he would feign being insulted, but given how they are with each other he can be more transparent. ]

[He rolls over so he can chinhands.]

[ He says this perhaps a touch too seriously given the whimsical nature of what he just said, but maybe it's important. ]
