Week 5

Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

Another week, another motive, another trial. Even without a literal time loop, it's easy to start to feel stuck in something of a rut. Though vandalism parties and the like can help shake the feeling somewhat, it's only natural to start going a little... stir-crazy, don't you think?

Fortunately for you, another week brings another new section of New Rapture to investigate. This one is the biggest yet! And look at that fun theme park. And a bar!

Seven of you are dead, but eighteen of you remain. What you do to try to escape is up to you, but at least following :)'s advice gets you coins for stuff, you know?

[ Oh buddy this theme park garage has plenty. You want a Big Wrench? ]

The stairs will take him up to what seems to be the door to the apartment! There's a balcony around the perimeter of it as well. ]

[Is it locked?]

[Yeah, that makes sense. If he puts his ear to the door, is there any sound inside?]

[ Some music, maybe? It's got the specific sort of muffling that implies decent soundproofing. ]

[inaclearing]

[Well, not much more he can do about this right now short of trying to break through the door with his tall stick man body, so Brett's gonna go back down, but first - is this just like, a regular interior door?]

[ It's an exterior door - like the front door of a house, basically.

Though the balcony would probably take you around to that front window, if you want to take a peek in before you head down. ]

[Is there just like a whole-ass house facade up here...

Anyway, yeah, he's def gonna lean in to peer through the window!]

[ It's less a house façade and more just the entrance of one - it's fancy up here, doncha know - there are a couple plants out front, an address that says "1 New Rapture Way," it's real classic.

Upon looking through the window, Brett will notice first that inside is a nice, if relatively sterile, apartment. There's a kitchen and a sitting room and a table where one might take one's breakfast. A box of Corn Flakes sits out on that table, next to the classic salt and pepper shakers, and a folded-up newspaper that's just too far away to make out much of. A record player spins - here again, you can tell it's playing, you can hear music, but it's so muffled that you can't make it out. A small personal library of leather and cloth bound books on history and the sciences occupies a bookshelf in the corner. The kettle is set out and ready on the stove.

The final thing he will notice is, back down a hallway, he can just make out the illuminated outline of the back of a familiar chair. It's not the side he's used to seeing, but it's clearly the same one Fontaine sits in every time he's onscreen. ]

[......actually? Brett is picking up one of the plants and then running away!

So, since we've been in the vicinity of this building for like a day and a half already and Fontaine hasn't come roaring out of here to execute anybody, he feels pretty okay still taking a moment to look around downstairs! What have we got down here?]

[ Congrats, Brett! You have obtained one (1) plant!

Well, there's the fireworks, the workbench, and a spare bumper car in here. It's weirdly clean, all told. ]

Brett sets his stolen plant and Wrenchie down on a table and goes to investigate the fireworks first. May as well know what's in here since he expects they'll be used as a murder weapon sooner or later.]

[ There's a lot of them! Notably, all the crates are sealed, except for one. About half of the fireworks in it are missing. ]

[Is this because he came here on Monday and not Sunday.....

Is there any way to tell what kind of fireworks are missing? Size is really what he's thinking about - like, are there slots for a lot of big ones that are now missing or anything?]

[ Looks like a general selection! However, from the distribution of dust, it's clear these haven't been here for a fuckin minute. ]

[Well, that's good. Maybe someone else had the same idea way back when.

How about the workbench, then, what's going on over there?]

[ A bunch of tools are laid out! They also don't seem to have been used in a while, though some of them from the toolkit set are missing. In their place is an audio log. ]

[inaclearing]

Also what tools are missing, I guess, but let's play this audio log!!!]

[ Looks like some screwdrivers and stuff.

Anyway, it's Female Founder #1! It's p short. ]

Hey Rodyle, buddy! Borrowing some stuff for a secret project kay thanks bye love you not really I don't actually respect you!

[Brett writes "Rodile (sp?)" down in his notebook real fast, tucks the tape into his pocket, and looks around. The bumper car is the only thing he hasn't checked out yet, yes?]

[ Yup! It's like. A Lamborghini? That seems right. ]

[Brett rolls his eyes - yeah okay of course it is. Anything inside?]
