WEEK 3

Well, the tail end of Week 2 could have gone better. That's the first thing to note.

The second thing is... hang on, should it be Week 3 yet? You've all gone to sleep (or... not, in the case of anyone who doesn't), but when you wake up (and you do all wake up), the calendar and clock on your device informs you that it's Sunday. In-character, all characters explicitly have absolutely no memory of Saturday.

Your sense of time isn't the only thing that's changed - a new branch of the facility has opened and become active overnight, giving you new resources and places to investigate, should you so choose. There's also a new channel on the television, though whether it's an improvement over the last one is questionable.

Otherwise, though, things have mostly settled into normalcy again, or at close to normal as you can find in this place. How long that peace will last, though... that's becoming increasingly uncertain, moving forward.

I suppose, though she also says the Professor doesn't mingle much with the other people there.

Nothing wrong with that, is there? Means he'll be alone when we find him.

Not really. But it does mean we won't be able to get much information about his living quarters or habits from others.

...When she said he doesn't mingle much... it's not as though no one's ever seen him, right? Maybe if you ask again, you could at least get a physical description.

[ladygeryon]

Mmm, probably. Unless he's one of those mysterious movie villains who wear a mask and completely concealing outfits all the time.

...Then he'd stand out in a different way.

[ladygeryon]

Yeah, but it'd also make it easier for him to swap with an unwilling patsy from his workers. [She sighs a little.] Eh, whatever. I'm getting too wrapped up in hypotheticals right now.

[bolderfell]

Mm. [He closes his eyes.] Makes you wonder why anyone would work for him. What any of them stand to gain from this.

[ladygeryon]

Maybe he has some kind of blackmail on them, like he did to us last week.

[bolderfell]

Maybe. If it's good enough to keep them from turning on him.

[ladygeryon]

Being trapped down here probably helps, if he also restricts their access to communication. If he makes himself their only job prospect, that's another leash he can use to control them.

[bolderfell]

...Yeah.

If it's like that, they might even think he's on their side.

[ladygeryon]

I suppose that's another thing to ask Angel. Where he got all those people to work for him.

[bolderfell]

If she'll answer. He hears all her conversations.

[ladygeryon]

Yeah, that makes it difficult. I can try to be casual about it, maybe ask about them with regards to being her coworkers instead of the professor's employees.

[bolderfell]

Well... It could work. As long as he's not eavesdropping on us right now.

[ladygeryon]

Yeah, there is that to take into account...he might also have records, but that depends on when he checks them.

[bolderfell]

Hm. [His brain hops one train of thought over.] Wonder if anyone's ever heard from him at night. So far it's always been while the lights are on, right?

[ladygeryon]

[Nira looks thoughtful.] I believe so? It could be as simple as him tying the light cycle to his own sleeping schedule...

[bolderfell]

Might be worth looking into. ...Just have to get Jasper to punch another window.

[ladygeryon]

We could probably convince her to check if the windows in the new rooms react the same way.

[bolderfell]

Like she needs an excuse to hit things.

[ladygeryon]

She just needs to do it sometime someone else can observe the reaction.
