WEEK 3

Well, the tail end of Week 2 could have gone better. That's the first thing to note.

The second thing is... hang on, should it be Week 3 yet? You've all gone to sleep (or... not, in the case of anyone who doesn't), but when you wake up (and you do all wake up), the calendar and clock on your device informs you that it's Sunday. In-character, all characters explicitly have absolutely no memory of Saturday.

Your sense of time isn't the only thing that's changed - a new branch of the facility has opened and become active overnight, giving you new resources and places to investigate, should you so choose. There's also a new channel on the television, though whether it's an improvement over the last one is questionable.

Otherwise, though, things have mostly settled into normalcy again, or at close to normal as you can find in this place. How long that peace will last, though... that's becoming increasingly uncertain, moving forward.

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

[ ooc: Welcome to Week 3! Turn in last week's AC over here, and regains remain over this way! And for the sake of consistency, Angel's office hours remain over yonder! ]
emberserker: Stern look. (this is why you're wrong)

You say that as if it's possible.

It is a victory, albeit a small one.
emberserker: Moody and sad. (sighhhhhhhh)

[personal profile] emberserker 2020-04-25 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think "just ignore them" works. I'd rather focus on destroying him, however that may be.

That is natural. The more effective strike, however, is one that is unseen.
emberserker: Moody and sad. (sighhhhhhhh)

With passive-aggression? I don't know if it'll get anyone out.

How does a serpent strike, Anna?
emberserker: Side profile, arm forward. (go on get out)

They wait, obviously. But we're stuck doing that regardless of how we approach it.

He is starting to show us his patterns. Today was unfortunate but he did show us an unintended weakness. He likely did not even realize it.
emberserker: Serious dismissal. (x number of bad ideas later)

[personal profile] emberserker 2020-04-25 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
How do you suppose?
archboxer: (35)

[personal profile] archboxer 2020-04-25 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
That he cannot trust the ones he should to enforce his rules. The one thing a leader needs -- especially when it is as important as running such an event -- is trust. Not from us but from his subordinates. That he allowed us to see a lack of it means he does not realize how foolish it was.

[She pauses.]

After all, if he is willing to give us so much money for committing a murder do you not think he would be rich enough to hire someone who could kill quickly and efficiently without a qualm?
emberserker: Arms crossed, standing by a pillar. (quick comment)

[personal profile] emberserker 2020-04-25 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
That's true enough. Surely he thinks because he can physically control her, that that's good enough compensation. Of course, one can't always rely on one subordinates, but...

[She scowls and clenches a fist at her side.]
archboxer: (34)

[personal profile] archboxer 2020-04-25 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
Trust may be betrayed, that is true.

[There... definitely is a tenseness to Rhea as well but it fades as quickly as it came.]

Yet to brazenly show that you cannot tells us more about him. That is, every member of the faculty is a potential weak link. That one moment showed us more of a route to freedom than the previous weeks had.
emberserker: Creepy reassurance. (trust me (do not))

[personal profile] emberserker 2020-04-25 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
...It might. I'll think about it. Surely Angel isn't happy with this either.
