WEEK 3

Well, the tail end of Week 2 could have gone better. That's the first thing to note.

The second thing is... hang on, should it be Week 3 yet? You've all gone to sleep (or... not, in the case of anyone who doesn't), but when you wake up (and you do all wake up), the calendar and clock on your device informs you that it's Sunday. In-character, all characters explicitly have absolutely no memory of Saturday.

Your sense of time isn't the only thing that's changed - a new branch of the facility has opened and become active overnight, giving you new resources and places to investigate, should you so choose. There's also a new channel on the television, though whether it's an improvement over the last one is questionable.

Otherwise, though, things have mostly settled into normalcy again, or at close to normal as you can find in this place. How long that peace will last, though... that's becoming increasingly uncertain, moving forward.

...that'd explain it even more, yeah. Would...would that response have been seen as fair, down there? The...the Professor is stronger and has access to more resources, so naturally he wins?

I mean, I've seen Damien take part in fights to death down there. It's a thing he and his dads have to do.

They have to prove to everyone they're fit to rule.

...ah. Sounds like a harsh life.

But he enjoys it, for the most part.

Better than resenting it, I suppose...how'd you two meet?

We go to the same school, Spooky High.

[ladygeryon]

Ah, that makes sense. He's...not as automatically combative there, I'm guessing?

[ gives her a Look ]

He's set fire to the school.

To get out of trouble.

For setting fires at school.

...ah. Forget I said anything, then. The school's still intact, though?

Heh, wouldn't be the first time it was destroyed by him. Or another one of my classmates.

[ HONESTLY. legit. why are arsonists so hot?? ]

It must for how much shit we put it through.

Hah... [A soft sigh. Well, makes sense that none of them have been expelled if it's that good.] ...you ever wonder if they're encouraging that behavior to collect the insurance? [It's more of a stray thought that flicks through her mind but she feels like she should mention anyways.]

Wouldn't be surprised. [ SHRUGS ]

School's gotta make money somehow.

Hah. [She pats him on the shoulder some more, not sure what else to say. So she'll sit in silence for a while, if he doesn't add anything.]

At least it's never boring.

Sounds like a better kind of "not boring" than we're getting here, too.

[She just nods, quietly, before letting out a soft groan and rubbing one leg.] Hey...you want to move somewhere more comfortable to sit?

Yeah, sure, let's move.

[She lets out a small "oof" as she stands up, supporting herself with her walking stick and extending a hand to Brian as well.]
