Fourth Investigation

It's hard to tell that - of if - the motive has passed. The radios are the same, there are no missing powers, the day begins like any other. But there's something heavy hanging over you, the knowledge that, well... it's Friday. And unpleasant things happen in New Rapture on Fridays.

While we would love to say it's remotely quiet and peaceful, we can't. Helios Suites and the grounds around them are body-free, at least, but... there's a series of booming noises coming from somewhere else in New Rapture, echoing through the empty halls.

Looks like the game is afoot, citizens.

[ Oh shoot... Yeah, hes gonna try to get the body out from under the jukebox??? YIKES. ]

[ It's pretty heavy!! Don't be afraid to ask for help!!

As he's working, he's got a pretty good look at the back of the Undertaker's head, which... Oof. Sorry, Floyd. There's two injuries here, the first and most apparent one being the stab would to the back of his neck. It's deep, like very deep, though it doesn't go all the way through. ]

[ Yeah, so before he continues further, he's gonna yell down the way in the Mile in case anyone might be in the area for more investigative help!

And back to the Undertaker... Jeeze... Poor guy... What's the second injury? ]

[ This one's to the back of his head, so you'll need to move some of his hair. Still, the shape is a little off, and Floyd will be able to find a rather nice-sized bruise and some indentation. It looks like his skull was broken by something. ]

[ Oh yeah, he's wincing at that. ]

Jeeze....

[ Would the chair blocking the door be a match? ]

[ Strangely? No. There is no blood from this wound. ]

[ That's real weird! So we're looking for a blunt object of sorts. Are there any other wounds along the body? ]

[bathymetric]

[ Not separate wounds themselves, but instead a large pool of blood around the Undertaker's head and chest. It seems to be coming from that wound to his neck. ]

So he got knocked out and then stabbed, maybe...

[ Oh yeah- is there anything in the pool of blood? Or is there just blood... which Floyd probably has on him now because he's not been too careful in avoiding it, whoops. ]

[ Just blood! However, as he's examining, he'll be able to see something...kind of odd about the Undertaker's eyes, the ones he usually keeps hidden behind his hair. They're faintly glowing green, even in death. ]

Huh...

[ Interesting... Very good to know! Anything else body-wise to worry about, beloved mods? ]

[ Not on the body itself, but near it! There's a wooden sotoba just out of Undertaker's reach. It's got some blood and flour on it, but it seems to be in one piece! How sturdy. ]

[ Oh, he's definitely gonna take a closer look at that, and also take it for evidence! Does it say anything on it in particular? Also... is there a trail of flour nearby, or just flour in general? ]

[ Nothing relevant is written on it, and there's no trail...but around where Misfire's looking, there's a lot of flour stains on the floor and counters. ]

[You ever call for help and you get Misfire instead? It’s dire. Anyway he’s here, ten minutes late, not even with Starbucks —]

…I feel like I’m missing a really good joke here.

[Anyway, he’s here for…body assistance. Or body-adjacent. Or whatever is noticeable and distracting.]

Maybe 'cause something fell on it? I don't know - is this anything?

[OK BIG SHRUGGING AS HE LIKE...READS THE ROOM. the nasty, messed up room.]

What d'ya need a hand with, Floyd?

Find the thing that caused that.

[ And he points to the Undertakers broken skull. ]

You got it.

[He goes off rooting around the parlor for anything that looks heavy enough like the garbageboy scavenger he is.]

[ The most obvious something is a fire extinguisher, which is not on the ground or on a wall as it should be, but instead hanging from the ceiling in front of the door, a string tied to its valve. ]

Now that's a workplace safety violation if I've ever seen one.

[Not the dead body, though. Any blood or the like on this thing?]

[ No blood, but some gray hair stuck to it! ]

[dullshooter]

[It's not likely to be anyone else's buut....double check that it matches Undertaker's shade? At a glance, at least.]

[Yaaaay! Now about that fire extinguisher.....is there anything around here that points to a Rube Goldberg kind of situation?]
