WEEK 5

That's three murders now - and this last trial got more than slightly out of hand. It looks like you might be in for another tough week... or at least, maybe that's just the refusal of this place to change too much. You lose Saturday again, but maybe six-day weeks are starting to feel normal by now. Who knows? The cycle of day and night continues apace, changing so little.

Speaking of change, though, there's a new area to look through, the biggest and most complex yet. And the end of one wing of the facility, from the looks of it - though you can probably guess where more areas might start to open up.

And speaking of opening up (segues!), this week if you're out particularly late, you might sometimes see Angel out and about! So hey, maybe change is on the horizon.

Just gotta hope it's a change for the better, don't you?

[ None of them look new, per se, but they do seem to have a range of Weathering on them. Also notably, most of the non-Earths have only one map, where Earth has many. ]

[ Are any of these marked up? ]

[ Not much, really? But there's one off to the side that's a little off. ]

[ Ain't that just the thing we always love to see. What's off about it? ]

It's blank. ]

[ ...That's more than a little off?? O...kay, is there any way to...jeez, get it off the wall, look at the back of it or something? Maybe it's got something else written on it! ]

[ It looks pretty secure to the wall, unfortunately - just a big blank paper with longitude and latitude all ready to go.

Actually, wait, are those even numbers on the top edge of the grid? Looks like they might actually be letters...

And there's some kind of smaller piece of paper wedged into the side of the frame, maybe that'll help. ]

[ ...Oh, boy, is it puzzle time? She's gonna grab that paper. ]

[ It might be puzzle time!

The paper is a list of cities and locations, both that Della does and doesn't recognize! ]

[ First question, do they seem similar to the cities Angel had circled in her atlas? ]

[ Nope! Some of them don't even seem to be on Earth. ]

[ Any noticeable similarities between them? Length, starting or ending letter...? She'll even check area, if she can find the cities on the Various Maps around the room. ]

[ There aren't a lot of similarities in the names... and the locations are actually all over the maps, at different longitudes and latitudes.

... actually, all the maps here appear to have been drawn on the same map grid, just with standard longitude and latitude lines. Huh. ]

[ ...Okay, maybe it's time to try this from a different angle. Those letters at the top of the blank map. Can she get a look at those? If need be she'll steal the ladder from the library. ]

[ Sure! They go in order from A to Z, making a sort of... letter and number grid! ]

[ Sooo if she were to, say, match up where those cities would go onto this blank map, and take down the letters they'd correspond to... What would she get? ]

[ That sure is the opposite of this place! But, uh, okay, she'll take down some notes on this.

Is there anything else that looks like it need some investigating? ]

[ Well, "Sanctuary" is marked on that map of Pandora! And it's... a little weirdly raised? ]

[ That one that Angel knows... Weirdly raised like it's on a mountain, or... ]

[ Well, it could indicate a mountain if any of the rest of the map was topographical! As it is it just looks out of place. ]
