WEEK 6

Another week, another three lost - and this time all to one murder case. And that's to say nothing of the execution, or whatever went on with that ouija board that still sits in the library... strange things are afoot in the facility, and some of them not even your captor seems fully equipped to explain.

The other of the two doors in the main living area finally opens after another lost Saturday, and what lies beyond is... strange, to say the least. Looks like there's no shortage of changes, even in the architecture. It certainly seems like you should have gotten something like this before the water park at the very least, don't you think?

Angel's still out and about at night, if you want to be found. And who knows what else you might find if you're out alone? Apparently, you might have a ghost on your hands.

Just... stay sharp. Don't let your guard down.

Of course.

[And then she sits down - not next to Therion again, but at the fire. Really keepin her guard up against your treachery, bud.]

It's not really me I'm worried about, anyway.

[bolderfell]

You and Jasper are strong, but you don't know what could happen to you. A lot of your powers were taken away.

[Like any cool guy, he doesn't look at her as he says these very cool and unconcerned things.]

I know.

[It's not that she thinks she's invulnerable. Maybe on some level she feels that way - just look how long she's fought without even losing her form - but it's a little too close to having a positive opinion of herself.]

But if somebody else got hurt, and I wasn't able to do anything...I can't even heal anymore.

[bolderfell]

...Guess that's understandable.

[They're down to almost half their number.]

But there are some who'd feel the same way if something happened to you.

Well, maybe.

[The Crystal Gems would probably never even know what happened to her. That would be awful - but at least she couldn't screw anything else up back there.]

Don't worry. I got through the entire war without being shattered - I'm not just going to let someone kill me now.

[bolderfell]

You better not.

Don't tell Jasper I said that, though. I prefer when she yells at people who aren't me.

[Rose chuckles.]

Oh, I'm surprised she hasn't tried to shatter me herself!

[bolderfell]

Hey, don't put it past her. As far as I can tell, she's getting frustrated. Don't know how long her dissatisfaction with the circumstances will keep her from going for you.

[lovelikeyou]

I know.

[She laughs about the possibility to hide a whole host of other feelings!]

I don't know why she cares so much. She would have hated Pink Diamond if she ever met her.

[bolderfell]

What makes you say that? The way you've talked about Diamonds, they seem just her type.

[lovelikeyou]

They do. But Pink was...the newest of the Diamonds. Earth was to be her very first colony.

[She speaks slowly, like she's chewing her words over here.]

I only met her once or twice. But she was a petty, childish coward. She wanted a colony without any of the work, and when things went wrong, she would just throw a tantrum and cry to the other Diamonds. That's what Jasper would have hated. She was a weak person - and smaller than the others, besides. I know Jasper hates that.

[bolderfell]

...You're not wrong.

[Therion hasn't been called runt in his adult life half so often as he has here.]

Too bad they didn't meet, then. Could've done her some good, seeing a little person in power. Given her some perspective.

I don't know. I don't think she would have learned anything from it. It didn't help any of the Diamonds stop shattering other deep-cuts.

[Pink Diamond was allowed to be a useless mistake, just because she was a Diamond. It didn't mean other gems were so lucky.]

She was still twice my size anyway. The other Diamonds...I've only seen Blue from a distance, but I wouldn't even come halfway to her knee.

...How do Gems talk, if one of you has to stand on a house to reach another's ear?

Most Gems don't get to talk to Diamonds at all.

[The real answer is "it's a cartoon and it doesn't matter", or possibly just shouting.]

They say White Diamond is even taller than Blue or Yellow. But no one I know has ever seen her.

[bolderfell]

Then she's probably made up to scare the rest of you into behaving.

[Trufax, it's what I thought all the way through the end of S5, even after seeing her.]

[lovelikeyou]

That would be nice.

[Rose just sort of smiles wistfully. Of course she knows White's all too real, but she can't say so now - and anyway, that would be nice.]

[bolderfell]

[Meanwhile, his train of thought chugs on, oblivious to her nostalgia.]

...A little like our Professor, if you think about it.

[Well, nostalgia probably isn't the right word, she's really not that into thinking about White of all people.]

How do you mean?

[bolderfell]

No one sees him. Even through the television, he never shows himself. We hear about all these things he can do, but he's provided little enough proof; don't even have proof he's one person.

[lovelikeyou]

I guess there's no real reason to think he is.

[There's the voice, but Rose is familiar enough with technology and also the fact that all Gems of a certain type have really similar voices to not...really consider that definitive.]

Just the profile, but that's just something he wrote himself. [or...whatever] What would the point of that be?

There are too many reasons to list for someone to hide who they are. At the very least, though, I think there are two people behind that screen. Or he had someone stand in for him at one point.

Do you think anybody here knows who either of them are?

[As far as Rose is concerned, the Professor being one random human isn't that different than him being another. It isn't as if they could identify him if they ever saw him either way.]

[bolderfell]

...Maybe.

[After a pause, he lifts a hand.]

Zelos's trial. Did you notice anything strange about the Professor then?
