WEEK 6

Another week, another three lost - and this time all to one murder case. And that's to say nothing of the execution, or whatever went on with that ouija board that still sits in the library... strange things are afoot in the facility, and some of them not even your captor seems fully equipped to explain.

The other of the two doors in the main living area finally opens after another lost Saturday, and what lies beyond is... strange, to say the least. Looks like there's no shortage of changes, even in the architecture. It certainly seems like you should have gotten something like this before the water park at the very least, don't you think?

Angel's still out and about at night, if you want to be found. And who knows what else you might find if you're out alone? Apparently, you might have a ghost on your hands.

What, this in particular? [ There is no way this weapon is realistically practical, but if the way Rin is smiling is any indication, she's, like, in love with it. ] If that's the case, I've gotta ask where everyone's been hiding them. I haven't caught anyone with anything like it.

No, the knife is new. But same general shape. Some are toys, I think. Too light. Kind of like what you were playing with in the arcade, but larger.

[But one is loaded and deadly.]

[mouflon]

Makes sense, I guess. If I've got one, then it stands to reason that it isn't the only one here. I'm not sure if that's good or bad to hear—but hey, I can't complain so long as I have mine, can I?

[bolderfell]

Guess not. I could bring you one or two, if you'd like to make a trade. I have five.

[Of the toys, he means.]

Five of them?!

[ She... assumes he's talking about real guns, clearly. ]

They keep me well supplied with coin for the machine. Guess they don't want me stealing too much from the facility itself.

Yeah, or you're just lucky. It's not like I'm short on coins, but most of what I've gotten is just... a bunch of junk.

[ There is a faint note of offense in her tone with those last words. ]

Always happy to take anything you don't want off your hands.

[One girl's junk is a garbage man's treasure.]

Then you're welcome to it. Though, I've gotta say, I don't know what you could possibly want with a snow globe or one of those little statues...

Wonder if the kiln gets hot enough to melt them down. Bronze has its uses.

[mouflon]

True... I wonder if you'd be able to make use of it with the tools we have here, though.

[ Still, it's... a thought?

Maybe someone should stop them before Rin suggests they try it. ]

[bolderfell]

Doubt it. [He's rubbing his chin consideringly.] ...But it could be fun to watch.

[ The thought earns him a soft snort. ]

I mean, at this point, that's just stress relief.

[ ...Which is a better use than nothing. So. Yeah, she's thinking about it now. ]

Nothing wrong with that. What's the point of living if you don't get some enjoyment out of it?

Sure. I think I still have a few, anyway... I've been throwing most of the booby prizes out.

We're different kinds of scavengers, I guess.

[ He keeps everything, she... throws everything that isn't valuable away. ]

Got it, though. Just give me a minute to clean up.

[This is how and why he's put enough away to retire at twenty-two, Rin.]

Sure. Have to get my things, anyway.

[Once she's done and brings her Best Grandma statues to the kiln, Therion's waiting with his usual whittling and a couple statues of his own to melt down.]

How many do we have?

[mouflon]

I've got three here. [ Just enough that she has to double-fist them to carry them all! She moves from the doorway to join him at the kiln. ] All in at once, or do you want to test one by itself first?

[bolderfell]

Well, what are we firing them in? Or are we just letting them melt across the bottom.

[WHERE IS THEIR ADULT SUPERVISION.]

[mouflon]

Honestly, that sounds tempting. Has anyone actually been using this thing? I wouldn't want to cause problems for someone who matters, but I wouldn't mind making things a little harder for the Professor's employees.

[ Unfortunately, they're adults, making them their own supervisors. ]

[bolderfell]

Then all in. Kilns take a while to heat up and cool down, and we won't want to open it in the middle.

[mouflon]

Good point. Okay, then, in they go!

[ Maybe the Professor was right. Petty vandalism feels great!

Anyway, for the record, Rin is going to try to arrange them in a little diorama, for added fun. ]
