WEEK 7
Another Saturday gone and just like that you wake on Sunday, down five of your number. The largest dent taken out of you at once so far - it's surely noticeable, the head count being cut by a third. Almost enough to make you wonder how many of you will even be left by the next motive or two. Surely this isn't a sustainable rate for body counts to increase... right?
There's a new and, it looks like, final wing of the building to explore, bringing everything full circle. Maybe you'll get some more answers to some of the questions and mysteries of this place there - or at least, you can certainly hope for them. Time to turn your investigative eyes towards one last batch of rooms, who knows what you might find?
Angel remains around at night, her appearances much more common now that... well, she's certainly seen a downtick in necessary surveillance work, hasn't she? The app giving you a line to The Professor remains open, and well... whatever's going on with that ouija in the library continues to happen! You're not suffering from a shortage of leads, at least, even as things get more bizarre.
Something's going to have to give here, eventually. Right?

[ ooc: Welcome to your last player case week! AC is over here, regains as always are over here, and... well, enjoy! After this we get to take our big turn towards the Serious. ]

[He says, wrapping it all the way up to its neck so only its head sticks out and tying the purrito closed with the hand-braided rope he carries coiled on his hip.]
I just want its valuables.
[Is Mira sure she's never felt so much mischief from anyone.]
no subject
Now she has. With a little laugh, she nods. ]
And now... you have a purrito.
[ terrible. ]
To think... foiled by yarn. It really is just a little cat.
no subject
Little cat with sticky paws.
Meeeooow!
[Poor thing's yelling its little head off. Because he's a BULLY, Therion squishes its cheeks, then offers the package over to Mira.]
Here. I won't let it bite you if you want to pet it.
no subject
Mira feels bad for the little critter, but like... of course she's gonna pet it. ]
How did it get here, anyway? Did it come from the vending machine?
no subject
No idea. I was playing in the arcade and saw it out of the corner of my eye. Looked pretty surprised to be here. Not that I blame it.
[He lifts the Cait to face him.]
Hey. Let go of your bag and I'll let you out of mine.
no subject
[ Huh. Not the vending machine, then. Mystery.... But she keeps up with the pets, giving it a little scritch behind the ears. ]
Do you think it'll give it up? I guess it would mean freedom, though.
no subject
...Probably not. Or it'll try to trick me.
[Can't say he doesn't understand, though. The things he's done himself for freedom...
After a pause--hehheh, "paws"--he looks up at Mira once more.]
Hey. Why don't you take a picture. Then you can prove to anyone you saw a real Cait.
no subject
She blinks, though, and smiles as she pulls out her phone. ]
You know, I could take a picture of all three of us, even.
no subject
[Don't tag him on Facebook. He adjusts the Cait in his arms.]
What do you need me to do?
no subject
[ It'll be a good memory of them harassing a poor Cait... It must be immortalized. She holds up the phone, screen facing them, as she pulls up the camera. ]
You just have to stand there, really-- what do you say, the Cait in the middle?
no subject
[He holds the Cait between them. This Cait has done nothing wrong (in the last two minutes), why is the world so dark and cruel?]
no subject
Alright-- smile!
[ And she snaps the picture, giving a smile of her own! ]
no subject
Well? Did you do it?
no subject
[ And she holds the phone out for him to see. Isn't technology amazing, Therion? ]
We make quite the trio, don't we?
no subject
[Even the Cait stops squirming miserably for a while to peer curiously at the phone. It wiggles a paw free and tries to swipe it, actually, but Therion lifts it up and away.]
Oh, no, you don't.
[He wrestles it back under his arm, then sighs and lowers it to the floor.]
That's hers. You can't have it. But I'll let you go now if you promise to stay out of trouble--or to only make it for the guy that trapped us down here. All right?
...Meow!
[True to his word, Therion releases it, and it vanishes around the corner.]
no subject
Sticky paws was right...
[ Mira watches it go... then lets out a little laugh. ]
Thank you for thwarting its phone-stealing efforts. ... And I hope it finds a way to make trouble for the Professor.
no subject
[Faito, Cait-san!]
Still... guess it was nice to see something from Orsterra. Something that wasn't mine to start with, anyway.
no subject
[ She'll go ahead and go over to the yarn to pick it up.... ]
I'm really glad I was able to see one. I guess we both got pretty lucky today, didn't we?
no subject
[Might as well chip in with cleanup, as long as he's here.]
...Thanks for your help.
no subject
[ She gives him a little smile, arms full of yarn. ]
I had a lot of fun, though, so that's more than thanks enough.
