WEEK 7
Another Saturday gone and just like that you wake on Sunday, down five of your number. The largest dent taken out of you at once so far - it's surely noticeable, the head count being cut by a third. Almost enough to make you wonder how many of you will even be left by the next motive or two. Surely this isn't a sustainable rate for body counts to increase... right?
There's a new and, it looks like, final wing of the building to explore, bringing everything full circle. Maybe you'll get some more answers to some of the questions and mysteries of this place there - or at least, you can certainly hope for them. Time to turn your investigative eyes towards one last batch of rooms, who knows what you might find?
Angel remains around at night, her appearances much more common now that... well, she's certainly seen a downtick in necessary surveillance work, hasn't she? The app giving you a line to The Professor remains open, and well... whatever's going on with that ouija in the library continues to happen! You're not suffering from a shortage of leads, at least, even as things get more bizarre.
Something's going to have to give here, eventually. Right?

SUNDAY
investigation
The man will head into the statuary and begin to look around in the area, trying to first see if he could catch anything off at first glance before he'd go and do a more in-depth investigation.
Following that, the quiet man could be found at his usual haunts.
He will be hanging around in the bar, with a glass of some alcohol beside him, looking thoughtful, but relatively not very bothered. Someone might even say he was calm, even in the face of what happened, though maybe that wasn't it either.
It would be much quieter now. Especially with Anna gone. It will be strange to get used to.
Next place he could be caught at will be the garden. He practically seemed to live here now, but he had decided today to sit in front of the pond and to contemplate his existence as he stared into its watery depths. Anyone who came closer may get the comment: ]
...hard to believe it's been over six weeks.

Even if I feel other things now, care about other things again. It doesn't matter.
It was really too late for me before I even arrived in this place.
She puts the notes back where she found them. She doesn't touch the motive envelopes.
After that, Rin goes to the art room. Flowers from the garden feel impersonal to her, if she's really being honest, so she's hard at work folding paper flowers. The red and orange ones she makes are a simple shape—but aside from those, there are pink ones, too, cut into petals and glued back together in something closer to the shape of a rose. It seems like those are for a separate project, going by the way they've been set aside while Rin attempts to string the rest together.
(Rose's note to her, as short as it is, has been tucked away somewhere safe and private in her room.)
It's evening by the time Rin appears at the memorial. She isn't sure if she'll find somewhere to place either wreath of paper flowers; she leaves them lying on the floor until she can think of something better.
Finally, Rin winds up... the bowling alley. The sight of it puts a sour expression on her face; something this lighthearted feels like an insult now. But she might as well make the best of it, she thinks, and sets about investigating the new room. ]

That said, though, he'll come check out the new area eventually; he seems pretty spaced out, but he shakes it off when he sees the locked door. He still has that blue key with him; let's see what that gets him, shall we?
After that...well, it's a matter of stopping by the infirmary again, which is where he'll be for the remainder of the evening, getting well into nighttime. Checking stock, organizing things that don't need to be organized. Keeping himself busy and largely going through the motions, because whatever his head has decided to do today is deeply unpleasant and this is mindless and familiar and something he doesn't need to actually focus on to accomplish.]

Later in the afternoon she can be found in the kitchen, carefully preparing jello and taking out several plastic cups. She's actually humming a tuneless little ditty while doing so. After a while, she'll have made a cup of blue raspberry jello for everyone, with gummy fish pressed in and whipped cream squeezed on top. She'll offer them to anyone who comes by, too.]
Hey, figured I'd make something a bit fancier, just to get my mind off things. Feel free to take a cup, I made extras too.
[When evening comes, she ends up at the bowling alley, hands on hips as she stares up at the screen before looking over at whoever's nearby.]
Hey, fancy a game?

After that... it's the art room. She works on Anna's first; she's painted flowers as the background. Amaryllis, mistletoe, pink carnations, all woven together like the chains she and Zerinda have worked on. Rose's is next, even though her hand shakes, but there's a brightness to it she hopes comes out. Brian and Sly, she admittedly hadn't known well, but--she takes all four portraits to the memorial. They're still drying a little, but they're here.
She tries not to think about how many portraits she's painted.
After grabbing something from the dining hall, she goes back to the art room. For a while, she just stares at the canvas, and when she tries to draw, she just--
Ends up at the kiln, staring hard at it and debating whether or not she can just burn the canvases she's screwed up. There are quite a few of them, after all. ]

investigation
Get out.
[ If she's looking at the photo of Rose and Greg, however, she just looks kind of puzzled, for comedy's sake. Who's this fuckin' guy?
Afterwards, she enters Anna's room, but she's only there for a few minutes before leaving. She hasn't punched a hole in the wall or anything! She looms in the doorway and pronounces yet another tch before walking on. Rhea's room goes entirely unexamined.
In the afternoon, she does investigate the new area, and she zeroes in on the crime exhibit. What's the lowlife layout here, anyway?
(She also tries to grab some bowling balls at the bowling alley, completely unaware of the purpose of the physical space or the game, and gets so offended that her giant fingers won't fit in the holes that she eventually, only half intentionally, chucks one halfway across the room.) ]

In the afternoon, Therion brings the boombox back to the fitness area, sheds his cloak, scarf, and shoes, and gets to dance practice once again. It's something to pour his energy into, to get all this change and all these emotions out of him. It's something that, as far as he can tell, has kept the darkest of his traveling companions from burning out.
He could do worse than channeling Primrose Azelhart in times like these.
In the evening, after a shower, dinner, and a change of clothes, he heads to... huh. The arcade, actually. He's standing at the Tetris machine, and, like, wow. He sucks at it, huh. He growls to himself as the blocks stack ever closer to the top, but the controls are awkward in his hands, and--]
Damn it.
[Doo de doo doo, dead. Muttering to himself, he scans his key card to try again.
Once it's safely past lights out, he heads to the vending machine room. Some of his pulls are interesting: He knows what a lute is, for one, and he's always here for more Ziploc bags. But as he's packing up his last batch--]
Augh!

We need to meet in one of the rooms with no cameras; tomorrow, preferably, as usual. I contacted the being who's behind the red text... or they contacted me, more like. I'll bring the board. They want to speak to us, they have a plan that involves us, and with more people, they believe there should be a stronger connection.

TUESDAY
MOTIVE
Meeting room, please. Some of you might actually like this one.
[ Once everyone’s gathered in the meeting room, you’re greeted by a bright flash from the screen that seems to fill the whole room in pure white. You can hear whispers of some kind under it, but it fades as quickly as it came. ]
This week, rather than threatening you, I’ve decided to give you a little reward. That flash should have partially undone the limitations put on your powers and abilities. They won’t work perfectly, but you deserve at least a little taste of normal by this point, don’t you? Don’t say I’ve never given you anything. And who knows? Kill and I might just give you back yours fully and then some.
[ And with that, he’s gone. Happy Tuesday?
As you try to access powers again, though, what he seems to have meant by “won’t work perfectly” is that they work, but they fluctuate greatly. Sometimes they function as normal, sometimes not at all, sometimes they’re just at full power without even being asked. Surely this won’t go wrong! ]

Incidentally, she can also be found lurking around the elevator access and vending machine throughout the day for similar reasons.
Speaking of the vending machine, she has some junk she needs to get rid of, too. Most of it is the usual fare, which she leaves displayed in front of the television in the lounge. Notably, though, two things have been set aside: a pendant she assumes must belong to someone here, and a hair ornament in the shape of a lily.
...It might also be noteworthy that, while Rin keeps half an eye on the junk she's laid out, the better part of her attention seems to be on one of the vending machine diamonds rolled between her fingertips. ]

MEETING
Basic gist is simple: meeting's moved, we're all going to be hanging out in the girl's restroom today. Professor's probably going to find that weird so don't be surprised if he sends someone to crash it eventually but we need to get what we can done in whatever span of time we have. Go find people, show them in ways that are hard for the cameras to pick up, but that's where we're going to be.
So. That's where we're ending up, even if it's weird as hell for four of us to be in here and apparently we're all congregating at once, but this is apparently what we're doing now.]
As excited as I'm sure everyone is about the motive announcement, we need to focus. What have we found lately?

Hey. You know how to play? Want to take a minute?
[ After the meeting, she can be found, ah. Well, it's always the vending machine, isn't it. This time, however, she's talking to it! ]
Can you like. Explain? Anything? Why? Why this? Why another specialized sword, wasn't Chainsaw Excalibur enough? [ Della's surrounded by a collection of various items. In her hand is the huge fucking sword. Della, please, please stop handling huge fucking swords.
Anyway, there's a goddamn assault rifle on the ground, too.

WEDNESDAY
PUNISHMENT...? (1/2)
Outside the meeting room, now.
[ It’s easy to see what’s supposed to be happening here - Angel staggers out of the meeting room, holding her hands up to her ears, but… walking as normal, not with the same puppeteered motions of the last time you saw her. Looks like someone was able to give her enough warning to prep some earplugs and ditch the earpiece she usually wears. That should make all of this a lot easier! ]
Hm. So, you want to die under your own power. That can be arranged, dear Guardian Angel.
[ There’s no small amount of venom dripping from The Professor’s words as he says them - he’s at “someone gave Nova a chainsaw” levels of angry at least.
Somewhere, in the background, you can hear the vault door open and shut. ]
You’ve broken the rules set forth for you, knowing the consequences of your actions. I am engaging the last of the Failsafe’s rules and relieving you of your position. Oh, Failsafe?
[ And, emerging from the north hallway… ]

Later on, she can be found sitting in a corner, looking more sedate as she summons up much smaller rocks from the ground, before focusing and watching them sculpt themselves out in front of her. If you see Jasper around today, she's probably wearing her weapon, a bright orange helmet with a giant battering ram in the front. As has been reiterated numerous times, it is absolutely the dumbest fucking thing you've ever seen. She's been using it as a sort of canary in the coal mine for her powers — if the helmet dissipates, she knows they're not working — and since they're on and off, she has to resummon it at least twice an hour. Every time, she gets this intense look on her face, and it either suddenly appears on her head, complete with sparkles, or nothing happens and she growls with frustration.
You might even see the absolutely unthinkable, which is her going through her room door to the lounge, early in the morning, without having to duck. Jasper is still tall, and her hair brushes against the top of the door, but the rest of her is just short enough to pass underneath unscathed! She has in no way altered the rest of her physical form, so she's still exactly as wide, just less tall, like a funhouse mirror version of herself. Whether or not she realizes she's been spotted, the inherent indignity of making herself smaller can't be tolerated for longer than it takes to test out her shapeshifting — her whole body glows white-orange for a second, and she shifts in height, stretching back out to her original dimensions. Once she's herself again, she grimaces. ]
Ugh.
[ After that, she heads to the fitness room, where she does something a little similar to the "training" from the first two weeks, only this time she's not lifting weights and dragging machines. She's lifting the machines, some with one hand, and dragging the entire weight rack, and the excitement of being able to actually act like she's supposed to completely erases any memory of, say, finding a body underneath it. Everything she moves around goes near the door, just in case the rush to the secret passage necessitates her pulling some of it into the halls. There's probably also occasional very loud impact sounds, when her powers suddenly go out and she inevitably ends up dropping hundreds of pounds of gym equipment from several feet. While she's angry literally every time this happens and incapable of modulating her emotions, at all, the satisfaction of it all is far more overwhelming.
Until she remembers. She remembers why they're getting this motive now, and what she would have done with her powers had it happened sooner, and what she could have done. She also remembers, a second later, what would have happened if she had succeeded. Everything comes rushing back to her, and she has so much inside her that she doesn't know where to put it all, and—
Jasper stalks out of the fitness room and stands, squaring off, at the threshold where Area A becomes Area E. She's staring straight ahead of her, not looking at anyone else unless they're directly in her line of sight, but does bark a warning. ]
Get out of my way.
[ And then she just... she just fucking starts doing this in the direction of the vault door. It probably does nothing other than scuff it up, and, most importantly, it looks so dumb. Jasper doesn't care. Even after it becomes obvious she's not going to be able to break through it while spindashing, she doesn't care. She just starts headbutting it. This is probably going to keep happening until her powers cut out again and she bangs her forehead straight into it.
At some point, she calms down enough to remember what they're doing today. Before she gets in position, she has time to head to the waterpark and test something else out. She's at the bottom of the wave pool again for a while, her helmet on. It's still on when she comes shooting out of the pool like a cannonball, surrounded by yellow energy, and then lands on the pavement next to it. ]

After a while, she even starts talking to it. ]
Hello...? Can you hear me? If you can, at least give me some kind of response... Drop the temperature in here like you did a few days ago, or something!
[ ...Other than that, most of the time Rin can be found doing her usual Rin Things. She cooks a meal in the kitchen, and clocks some time on the light gun machines in the arcade. And...
And she visits the laboratory Birkin found. She is definitely taking stock of what kind of chemicals are still left in here, and... To those who have the necessary expertise, they are definitely the kinds that go into making homemade explosives. Ghostworth. Hey. You in there?
[ ...She's aware this isn't how these things work but just go with it.
The day mostly passes in the arcade, besides that. Pac-Man, some lightshooter games, definitely DDR. But, see... That maybe isn't too great of an idea?
It's getting towards dinner time when she starts making her way to the garden, to sit for awhile. She's barely through the door when her left leg trips out from under her--or, it may be more accurate to say, falls out from under her. The grass, more squishy than the rest of the floor, has caused a small problem, and...well, Della's on the ground and the metal leg is under her, no longer connected to its joint. ]
Oh, what...? [ More annoyed than anything, she pushes herself up to reconnect it and finds herself frowning. There's a missing screw. ]
...Aw, phooey.
[ So! From Areas D to B, you can find her leaning on the left side of the hall, hopping along on one leg, the prosthetic in her arm. She's...mostly grumbling, because this is more an inconvenience than anything else, but damn is it sure annoying! ]

Thank you! [If it really is haunted there's no reason not to be polite to it. Unfortunately at the same time lightning sparks from her fingertips and she has to pull her hand away quickly before she shorts out the poor machine.] Sorry, sorry!
[Once she's finished with the vending machine, next stop is the craft room. She's in here for a little while, rolling the the piece of odd purple glass between her fingers while she wraps a thin piece of wire around the top and cuts herself a length of cord long enough to comfortably wear around her neck. With the necklace pieced together she holds the pendant in her hand a little longer, studying it and seeing if maybe she can pick up any kind of magical signature on it or if it's just pretty.]
What are you...?
[Finally, a little closer to the evening, she's at the water park. She's brought Gregor the Adopted Groaning Skull with her this time and and carefully sets him on the ground next to her on her bundled up cloak as she kneels beside the wave pool. She takes a deep breath, closing her eyes and then rubbing her hands together.] Okay...focus. You've been doing this forever, Zaza. [She lowers her hands to just touch the surface of the water and waits.
And waits.]
Honestly? Not even a snowflake?
[ooc: so with Zerinda's magic acting up, this includes her entropy spells! Her spell tree is here and if you want your character to be affected by a spell, hit me up and let me know! This will only happen with permission and the effects will last ten minutes.]
