There's always a lighthouse

And just like that, you wake up in the basement of a lighthouse in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. There's a circle of 25 pods in the middle of the room, and two more in a room off to the side, and you can imagine who is in which.

An elevator to the side of the room leads up to the ground floor (or to the first sub-basement, if you want to check out the machine that brought you here), where you can for the first time in weeks look out a window and see the sky. Its a beautiful sunny day, with a strong breeze on the grassy ground of the island where the lighthouse stands. Have you ever been this happy to hear seagulls?

You're free. Whatever comes next, you're free and you won. Take some time to relish your victory, won't you? Reunite with friends you thought you had lost, go forth and just... well, enjoy this.

Well, I have to get back to Orsterra.

[He takes out the ruby dragonstone from under his cloak and shows it to her, all agleam in the light from the window.]

Got business that won't finish itself. You're taking Mira under your wing straightaway?

[ She nods, though her eyes go a little wide, looking at that ruby. ]

Taking a little detour...to stop some gods, once we get my family up to speed.

[bolderfell]

[It's not even his, she can't have it!]

Right, right. ...Take care of each other. I know you will, but it doesn't hurt to say.

[nothingcanstop]

[ It's fine, she just thinks it's sparkly!!! ]

Well, I know you'll take care of yourself too, but that doesn't mean I'll keep that sentiment to myself either.

Yeah, don't worry. I always do.

[Kind of a lonely thought, though, isn't it? Della and Mira will look out for one another, and Therion--well. Therion's going home by himself. He glances away, rubbing at his unshackled wrist under his cloak.]

...Mira suggested I drop by for a visit now and then. That all right? [He meets her eyes again, putting on a little mock mischief to mask the genuine question beneath.] You know you told me too much about your family's fortune to think I'll keep my sticky fingers to myself.
