FOURTH TRIAL
[ Well! That's sure something, isn't it? There may or may not be a lot of you excited to get down to business, but Jones does eventually move to collect you all and bring you to the theatre. It's a familiar routine by now, perhaps even comfortingly so given the irregularities of this particular killing.
Two of you gone this week. The elevator is started to feel downright spacious, don't you think?
A shanty, as usual, echoes from the crew of the Dutchman as you enter. The room is the same as it has ever been before you as the elevator settles into position. ]
To yer positions, passengers. Chins up.
[ Three more podiums claimed by the rust and wear.
You have your evidence, and you're going to need it before long. The music outside dies down.
Welcome to your fourth trial. ]

Hey, um. This is gonna sound really insensitive and terrible? But, uh. Have we considered why Lorna has [vague hand gesture] generic wasting sickness?
no subject
Lorna, were you this ill before you arrived on the ship? Has it gotten worse since being here?
no subject
[It was worrying enough for Filbo to immediately go and get the Decus coconut and offer it all to her]
I-I'm not saying she did any of this...but she really was having a hard time with, uh, the lack of food?
no subject
[Or you know, actually look in the right direction if this is actually where we're going here???]
no subject
[He hopes, at least. Lorna seems like such a harmless person, he doesn't want to think that if she can go and transform into something that did all that was found today she'd be all pleased about it]
no subject
[Well, let's try to be careful about it.]

Yes... I've been ill for a very long time, even before arriving here. Normally I have Auntie Whispers to help me, but... it has not been easy to manage, on my own now.
no subject
I'm sorry it's been difficult for you, truly. Does it seem like your illness has gotten worse since you arrived here, without your aunt to help you?
no subject
[It even says as much on her profile, actually.]
no subject
I imagine things have been even more difficult this week because of the lack of food, ja?
no subject
[And at that, Lorna suddenly goes rather quiet.]

[and maybe flesh-eating spirits have weird energy signatures, we don't know]
no subject
[There's a long pause, and then she signs, glancing at Magica of all people.]
There is a possibility... that it might not work on me. It's as Magica I said... I used to live in a realm that is more or less a purgatory between the living and the dead, so I may not have a vital sign indicating life, despite being here and speaking now.
[But Data is welcome to try anyway, because that doesn't necessarily negate energy signatures regardless, right?]
no subject
????????????????????????????????????
internal freaking out?????????????????????????????????? The fuck do you mean no vital sign?]
no subject
[But that actually makes him more interested in seeing the results, so he'll go ahead and scan her regardless!]
no subject
And then.... it picks up another similar signature, in the same space? ]
no subject
Of the people who are between him and Lorna, Constantine is nearest, so Data will cross over to show him the tricorder screen.]
Constantine, will you please confirm what I am seeing here?
