Another week, another three gone in the case alone, not to mention Chloe earlier in the week. Even as you gain access to another floor, the ship by now must be starting to feel more empty than ever. It's been a long time by now, approaching two months.

Where do you think you'll be, in two months more time?

Actually? If this is the worst that could happen, and you are still okay with having another spoonful? It is likely the best I could have done.

[But she was hoping so hard for it to be better than this!]

...g-good? Well done? The--The improvement?

[He stirs the soup in his bowl, but really isn't going for another spoonful. He absolutely would finish his bowl, but after seeing Flayn's reaction...may as well do it in private. Flayn cooked it because she wanted him to try her cooking, he'd feel so bad not finishing it -- after all it's not great in the slightest, goodness, but it's not poisonous...he's sure of it]

...trust me, it's not easy to cook something good. I mean, when I started learning I'm pretty sure I gave myself food poisoning once or twice before I stopped making mistakes. Look at me, I'm an adult living by myself and I only can cook just enough to survive.

[Which is enough for him, really. As long as he's not eating overcooked or undercooked stuff he's fine]

[No, thankfully she has never killed anyone with her cooking. It's just greatly avoided - and this is probably the most potable her attempts have ever been.]

...I suppose so? [She still seems fairly disheartened by the effort.] But surely no one would turn down your cooking, would they?

I wouldn't know. I haven't really cooked for anyone except myself, so if someone asks me to make something for them it probably would be because there literally was nothing better.

Then - Filbo, I would like to try some of your cooking! It is only fair, is it not?

W-What? Me? Really?

I-I mean, if you really are sure about that I guess I could--what would you want?

Whatever you feel like making! What sort of food would you cook for yourself?

[Because it's bound to be much better than this fucking soup]

Uh, pasta. I-I tend to eat a lot of pasta, actually.

[It'd make sense, probably. Easy enough for someone aware of his lack of skill such as Filbo to make without fearing he'll screw up horribly, but also simple enough to allow for all sorts of changes to it if he feels like it. I figure it kind of fits, hah]

Then I would like to try some of your special pasta.

[Filbo let's be real you could make her spaghetti with peas and butter and she'll be thrilled.]

I-It'd be nothing special! But I'll make some with you...

[Filbo sheepishly scratches his head]

...if I can practice a bit before I do. I dunno, I don't wanna try something improvised. If I'm gonna do this then it'll be better if I make sure I still remember how to make a good one?

[As if you gave Flayn a chance to practice before the cinnamon wonder soup, Filbo]
