FINAL INVESTIGATION

Good morning, passengers. You've made landfall.

The ship arrives at the shore of the island early in the morning, suddenly grinding to a halt for the first time in weeks. A ramp is lowered directly onto the beach, and The Captain almost immediately hops down it, laughing the whole while as he does. Jones stands on the ship, not following, and The Captain addresses you:

"Don't take too long! We have business in that lighthouse, you and I."

Without another word, The Captain heads towards a path on the beach that heads lighthouse-ward, but not before turning back again.

"And Jones! Head to your ship and ready the crew for when this is over."

Jones seems... not quite content to do this, whatever it is, but after a minute or so for any last conversation, he vanishes into a wall.

With both of your captors no longer on board, the ship is quiet. Its engines are stalled, the journey over. If you wish to survive the day, you're going to have to go onto that island and face The Captain once and for all.

But first... there are some areas you definitely haven't explored yet! If you're going to go in with all the information you need, might be time to take advantage of this situation...

Well! Better be careful with this or else there'll be a death in the middle of this investigation log and that'd be a bummer. So! Any idea about this robot thing's function -- if shooting people isn't all it's for?]

[ It doesn't seem set up to shoot people, actually! It's holding a gun, pointed at an empty wire stand on the table nearby. ]

So! What's up with this wire stand? How big is it? Any signs of what may have been on it at some point?]

[ It's shaped in a very distinct way, actually! It looks meant to hold, uh...

... Oh I hate to have to ask this question, but hey Filbo, do you know what a human heart is shaped like? ]

[Probably not. Well, may as well take a polaroid photo of this stand and take it to the trial so someone else tells him he was in the vicinity of something that'd hold a human heart, that'll be a hoot]

[Niiiice, this should be a good one. Filbo, still eyeing the gun as if it was going to turn over to aim at him the moment he took the folder, takes the folder and steps away. Heh, even though it's deactivated he still feels a little nervous about that thing, really.

[ A couple documents in here! First up we have the receipt for the purchase of a silver key from a charity auction! ]

This appears to be a bill of sale for a cruise liner! Huh! ]

Shoving the manila folder into the backpack, Filbo takes another look at the table and surrounding areas. So! Anything else to be found over there?]
