Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

It's now been a week since you were all captured. Perhaps you've already settled in. Perhaps you're already confident that you'll make it out of New Rapture alive. How serious about this could Mayor Fontaine possibly be, really?

While there still may not be much to do in your little hotel bubble, you've at least been granted a little more now - some kind of mysterious room and a sizeable library of all things. And in all the places you've looked so far, you've found valuable information, and even learned some of the story of New Rapture along the way.

Make sure to keep talking to the others! You want to keep those regain coins flowing, don't you?

[Adaman can't help but chuckle at Hodaka's delighted reaction; Leafeon seems to beam just a little bit too as he sniffs the outstretched hand, before just kind of. Gently butting his head into it, the demand all but implicit.]

Aha, would you look at that! Seems he's taken quite the shine to you already. Not that I had a single doubt!

[Adaman is quick to point out a young woman who seems to be assisting the others as much as she can; her smile is warm, and she doesn't seem to be worse for wear.]

This one. [...] I am glad that this situation hasn't broken her spirit; she's a strong woman, and it's...her strength that I want to emulate. She has always been the stronger, of the two of us.

[Despite it all, his smile is fond. A little sad, but...fond.]

[Jonathan opens his mouth

Then closes this again

Then paces around the room, trying to figure out if he somehow misheard

Then he stops and stares at Dandy

Finally, he speaks.]

Are you suggesting that I seduce the Mayor?!

[He sounds outright offended by this.]

What... what made you think that either of us are into men like that?

You don't have to be into it! Not actually!

You just gotta give him a star performance. Pour some liquor down your throat and muss up your hair! It'll be fiiiiiine.

As do I. But Leafeon is strong; I may not be giving him enough credit, all be told! He's always adapted when times have grown tough, and I'm certain that he will continue to do so!

[Leafeon will sniff, then! He seems a bit amused by the assertions that Adaman is making, at least, but he will go and just kind of gently headbutt Rossiu's hand. Ever the solicitor...]

I'm sure that meeting all of you will help him, too. Wild he may be, but he's always enjoyed the company of others, too. Most of his species have, in my experience.

[Adaman chuckles at that; it's...not quite his usual pep, but it's something, and he nods his head in agreement. Seems like her mom has the right idea.

Still, that next bit gets him to nod; he'll actually start going to the machine of his own accord, pondering...]

Yes, they will likely need the food to keep up their energy. Do you know if they've any particular fondnesses...? Or dislikes.

[He's got some ideas about foods that can keep up their energy at least, but hey, may as well see what they can do.]

[Hagakure definitely came by here at the wrong time. Or maybe the right time? Would Jonathan even want comfort??

[He announces his presence so he doesn't sneak up on the poor man while he's having a breakdown.]

[Ah. They both need some talking down, it seems.

Hagakure throws his hands up defensively as he presses himself back up against the window.]

Like you can talk! I thought you were sneaking up on me!!

[But that doesn't seem to be the case if he also took Nandor by surprise, so he takes a deep breath.]

Look, I'm sorry, okay? I was just lookin' out the window and tryin' to chill, that's all.

You definitely caught on quick from what I can see! What gotcha into cooking?

[Is he just going to loiter in the doorway for now...? Apparently.]

Yeah. It's something I never take for granted.

[If nothing else, they've got a little connection there, having such similar upbringings... A shame that one of them ended tragically, though.

He turns to Rossiu again, his smile not having faded.]

That's what I'm thinkin' too. They probably wouldn't want us to mope so much over this either, even though that's easier said than done...

[Hagakure's figuring that Rossiu is struggling too, even though he's usually so stoic... Hm. Would it likewise be good to bring up Rossiu's captive? It's worth a shot.]

Hey, so...if you don't mind me askin', who'd he put in there for you?

[For once, the gravity of what Aiba has just said doesn't go sailing right over Hagakure's head. No, he absorbs that...and just looks a bit stunned.]

Wait, so...you coulda just up and bounced outta this at any time but you're staying here for us?

[A small amount of shock appears on Hagakure's face before his expression falls into something more somber.]

Man, I so easily forget that you were in a legit war back home. I really shouldn't be so surprised you're good at this and managing to stay chill here when you're dealing with that on the regular.

You've definitely got my respect, for serious.

[Like, dang. He can't even imagine the sheer level of patience Forrest has!]

[ The shelves are all pretty sturdy - though the first thing to note is that the free-standing ones all seem to have been installed after the room was carpeted. ]

[ Hell yeah, go nuts!

... There's some kind of old, dark stain under there. ]

[ So climbing up is easy enough for a guy like you - other people here might not be able to manage it, but. The vent cover is pretty tightly secured to the wall. ]

I mean I'm not about to make any assumptions, big guy. What do you got?

[ He hates this. He loves this. Hand in unlovable hand. ]

I mean... what am I gonna do, kick you out? We all have to share the space.

Even if it wasn't, you'd have more use for it than me.

[ It's not a lie - he learned how to sew at some point, at least the basics, when he was on his own growing up, but he's hardly ever been at Forrest's level. ]

[ Hodaka squints over from the miso. ]

Are...you saying... You stayed up all night?

Still, Leafeon kind of gives Brett a quizzical glance, but Adaman turns around when Brett speaks up, canting his head a bit.]

I am assuming that a fox is a Pok--animal from your world? [Adaman grins none the less.] But yes, I can most assure you that he is! He's a grass type, after all; I'd be more concerned about a grass Pokémon with no foliage at all!

He’s Grimlock. You can’t tell on account of the soundproof glass and the face plate, but that’s pretty much all he can say - “Me Grimlock.” The rest is just noises.

[He realises that’s not much of an explanation.]

He used to be this terrifying guy. Leader of the Dinobots; a group of ‘bots that turned into Dinos. We just kind of…found him, and picked him up in the Scavenger way.

[They have a habit of collecting people. Misfire was a collected people, once.]

[Adaman nods his head a bit at Brett's greeting, just kind of tiredly beckoning him in; come in if you want, buddy, he's gonna likely be here for a bit. The statement gets a small laugh out of him, humorless.]

Ah, you needn't worry about me. My night has only just begun; I'm certain that I won't be sleeping for quite a while tonight. Almighty Sinnoh would frown upon any wasted time, when it could be better spent trying to find a way out for all of us.

[...He'll get back on it when he's not watching the hostages, promise, but he really just can't help it right now.]

[Adaman perks up upon hearing someone call to him, and when he turns around, he smiles at Mielle and nods in greeting.]

Ah, no, not at all Mielle! You simply caught me in the middle of my daily offering, is all. [The laser sword feels...well, a little silly, all be told, but it's the best he's got for now.] Though, all be told, I hope these offerings are up to Almighty Sinnoh's standards...

[He shakes his head though.]

But that matters not! Is there anything I might be able to help you with?
