Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

It's now been a week since you were all captured. Perhaps you've already settled in. Perhaps you're already confident that you'll make it out of New Rapture alive. How serious about this could Mayor Fontaine possibly be, really?

While there still may not be much to do in your little hotel bubble, you've at least been granted a little more now - some kind of mysterious room and a sizeable library of all things. And in all the places you've looked so far, you've found valuable information, and even learned some of the story of New Rapture along the way.

Make sure to keep talking to the others! You want to keep those regain coins flowing, don't you?

[Well at least there's sympathy from someone! Aiba sounds genuinely concerned]

Are you alright? Did the mayor harm you?

[There's a problem, though. Aiba is hiding as usual, taking advantage of the meeting room's furniture, but the glass wall and its properties make it very difficult for her to project her image into Jonathan's eyes. Therefore, all he can see is a very vague, almost completely transparent, and somewhat distorted Aiba. It's unmistakably her voice, though]

A-Aiba, you...

[He stares at the image of Aiba in shock. He had never seen anything like this before, and can hardly comprehend what he's even looking at.

... Was Hagakure right about the ghosts?

Still, the genuine concern in her voice keeps him from completely freaking out.]

It seems like the Mayor has not harmed me yet, but thank you for your concern. I just pray that he does not have anything further in store for me.

This is breaking so many human rights treatises.

[Well, the entirety of their circumstances does. Aiba looks around]

Do you see anything that could indicate a door, or a way out of that room? Anything that could be opened, even if you can't from your side.

[hotpaprika]

[He shakes his head.]

I looked everywhere. I haven't the faintest idea how the Mayor locked me up here in the first place, or how I am supposed to leave once my time is up.

Perhaps I should wait until the time is up to figure out how you will be allowed to leave -- not that I'll just sit back and do nothing until then.

[Although what she does perhaps isn't welcome:]

Did you seriously fall asleep out of your bedroom?

[Scolding Jonathan]

I'm so sorry. It was getting quite late and it felt like such a long trip back to my suite. I thought for sure that nothing bad would happen.

[He looks like a dog being punished.]

You thought nothing bad--even if there weren't a rule against it, did you really think it was a good idea to fall asleep out there after everything the Mayor said?

[Aiba sounds so disappointed someone would just fall asleep in a random place in the middle of a murdergame. Ah, you have no idea how often it happens, gal]

Well... I trusted you guys, and the Mayor didn't seem like someone who would attack me in the night.

[He continues looking absolutely pathetic.]

You need to take care of yourself. If you don't, I will find myself forced to watch over you to ensure you won't bring trouble on yourself due to a bad decision.

[Aiba makes the mistake of hoping Jonathan had learned from past mistakes, haha]

[hotpaprika]

Oh please, you mustn't use all your energy on me. I can take care of myself, I promise.

[pairtner]

You saying those words while being sealed inside this isolation chamber doesn't give me any confidence.

[hotpaprika]

[He looks flustered at that.]

I-I promise I will! I suppose I just got too comfortable and forgot that this was still a prison.

[pairtner]

Make a point in not forgetting that ever again.

[Aiba sighs, shaking her head]

I mean it, I wouldn't hesitate to stay near you at all times if it means making sure you will be alright. It would be far from the first time I have to do such a thing for anyone.

[It's pretty much her whole reason for existing, really. Aiba wasn't made only as a tool to help Kaname Date, but also as a life companion for him. She takes this so very seriously]

It's not that I don't trust your abilities, I just fear that watching over me would take up too much of your time, and I cannot even pay you for the service.

[Also it just makes him feel... slightly incompetent in his own abilities.]
