Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

It's now been a week since you were all captured. Perhaps you've already settled in. Perhaps you're already confident that you'll make it out of New Rapture alive. How serious about this could Mayor Fontaine possibly be, really?

While there still may not be much to do in your little hotel bubble, you've at least been granted a little more now - some kind of mysterious room and a sizeable library of all things. And in all the places you've looked so far, you've found valuable information, and even learned some of the story of New Rapture along the way.

Make sure to keep talking to the others! You want to keep those regain coins flowing, don't you?

[He's a little confused by Obi's statement, and takes him a moment to place the implication.]

Oh, I forgot that not everyone here is from Earth. I must say it's quite peculiar, but I can offer my knowledge of various plants for you.

[He muses to himself, considering what his favorite food is.]

Hm... I always considered myself an adventurous eater, but I've always had a soft spot for a good, hearty stew and some bread. How about you?

[kninja]

I like just about anything as long as it's spicy. Any time I visit somewhere new, I make sure to sample the local dishes so I know what's good.

[He turns another page, more taking in the pictures than reading.]

If it's really good, I ask for the recipe, if they'll share it. Some cooks are more protective than others.

[hotpaprika]

Oh, me too! I haven't done much traveling myself, but I must say trying the local dishes is my favorite part of traveling, especially when spice is involved!

[He smiles fondly.]

It is a shame I don't have my journal on me; if you're a cook I bet you could make an amazing paprika hendl.

[kninja]

Oh? What's that?

[Color him interested.]

It's this really good chicken dish that's all over Hungary that's smothered in this pepper sauce. It's a bit much for me but it's absolutely worth it in my humble opinion.

[Ugh, talking about all this food is making him realize just how long it's been since he's eaten. He gently clutches his stomach.]

I can certainly say I would do just about everything to have a plate of paprika hendl right now.

[kninja]

Hungary...

[Obi trails off, flips back to the table of contents, and then pauses. After a moment, he looks up again, a laugh threatening to bubble up.]

Wait. You have a country called Hungry?

[hotpaprika]

You know, there is an extra syllable there.

[He smiles gently at Obi's amusement.]

I'm sure there are plenty of things back where you're from that would sound queer to me.

[kninja]

Oh, probably. Okay, Hungary, Hungary...

[He leafs through the book, because surely one of these 450 recipes must be for paprika hendl. Of course, my cursory Google research did not indicate that Hungary was one of the countries whose cuisine is represented in Around the World in 450 Recipes, but if there's no Amazon Look Inside! cheat, then who's really to say it's not there?

The Plurk coin toss, apparently. It says no.]

Aw, man. It would've been too convenient to find it right away, huh? [He sighs and rubs the back of his neck.] Still, a country's name to go on makes it easier. All that time in Lilias can't be for nothing.

[hotpaprika]

[He sighs, slightly disappointed, before perking back up.]

Well thank you for looking regardless. Perhaps we could look for other countries recipes that look interesting. After all we can still explore other types of cuisine in this book.

[kninja]

Yeah, something tasty's bound to be in here!

[He flips the book to the other side so he can go through the index for chicken dishes, since the hendl's one of those. After running his finger down the column, he selects one at random, turns to the page, and reads:]

"Chicken tikka masala." Hmmm! That looks good.

[Ready to be BRITISH ON MAIN, Jonno?]

[Jonathan's eyes

Light the fuck up.]

Oh, tikka masala is amazing! I must say it's probably one of my favorite foods out there! Obi, promise me you'll make it sometime if you're planning on cooking soon.

[In his defense he had not eaten since the previous night.]

One of your favorites, hmm? All right.

[He looks up and smiles.]

Your wish is my command.
