Week 2
Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.
It's now been a week since you were all captured. Perhaps you've already settled in. Perhaps you're already confident that you'll make it out of New Rapture alive. How serious about this could Mayor Fontaine possibly be, really?
While there still may not be much to do in your little hotel bubble, you've at least been granted a little more now - some kind of mysterious room and a sizeable library of all things. And in all the places you've looked so far, you've found valuable information, and even learned some of the story of New Rapture along the way.
Make sure to keep talking to the others! You want to keep those regain coins flowing, don't you?

[Aiba sighs and shakes her head, putting a hand on the book. In hindsight, it was also foolish to try to read in public. It's not like she can even turn the pages without help, which is why she has to ask:]
This is going to sound strange, but if you intend to stay in this library, would you mind...passing the pages of this book from time to time?

[Brett's sort of disappointed not to get a real answer, but - well, it does seem like Aiba doesn't want to talk about it. Maybe he shouldn't push after all.
Gonna sit down not too far away, though!]
Just...let me know what you need.

[.....]
I must apologize for not giving you a straight answer about anything. I'm growing aware it's ridiculous to be doing this, but it's a necessity for me.
[Her life really would be far easier if she could just show herself as she is, but given the threat of murder, it seems reckless for the time being, she thinks. So far there's no reason to think Brett would target her -- and to be fair, even if she revealed herself she wouldn't be any easier to target, given finding a small thing in order to kill her is the difficult part of any plan -- but part of her is pretty afraid and she hates that.
Good grief, sometimes she wishes she were a flesh person instead of an AI. Oh well]

[Brett leans over to turn the page, then returns to his seat.]
I know I can be a little pushy. It's good in interviews, but not always so much in regular conversation.

[Well, that was a given. She was pretty lousy at pretending to be corporeal, even from the first day that lie was on shaky foundations, haha]

[Ethereal concepts as those ones don't apply to her, she's sure!]

[Brett's joking; it's really not a concept he thinks too much about either way.
He's trying to think this through still, even though he only just apologized for pushing. So, she's intangible, but she must be able to see the book if she's asking him to turn pages. Is she somewhere nearby? Maybe the hologram covers something? He does sort of think to touch her and see, but that seems way too rude.]

[Aiba doesn't seem to be paying much attention to Brett -- her real self is currently on a shelf behind them, her vision zooming in order to read]
I'll have to ask you for discretion. While several are aware I'm...not a tangible human being, I'm still attempting to hide that fact. It would lead to a lot of questions, and one thing my partner has said is that the world isn't ready yet for me, leaving aside the secrecy I'm supposed to be bound to.
[Hah, although a lot of the secrecy of the organization she's in and what not doesn't tend to stand for that long. AI Somnium Files ends with several civilians being aware of her and about the organization she's a part of. I will be surprised if, by the end of Unknown Seas 3, everything Aiba is and does isn't public knowledge for everyone here]

[He leans forward to turn the page. Brett may be nosy, but he does make up for it with his ability to keep a secret. He's good at it to a fault, sometimes.]
Though I don't know how long that's gonna last. For you, not for me.

[Things to say two days before it stops being a secret]

Okay. Good luck with it.
[lol rip]
