Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

It's now been a week since you were all captured. Perhaps you've already settled in. Perhaps you're already confident that you'll make it out of New Rapture alive. How serious about this could Mayor Fontaine possibly be, really?

While there still may not be much to do in your little hotel bubble, you've at least been granted a little more now - some kind of mysterious room and a sizeable library of all things. And in all the places you've looked so far, you've found valuable information, and even learned some of the story of New Rapture along the way.

Make sure to keep talking to the others! You want to keep those regain coins flowing, don't you?

[Thankfully(?), Rossiu has not read through that one yet. He might actually understand parts of it!! Maybe. GL plays fast and loose with tech and so do I.]

That is a good question. While it may not be an open threat, it is at the very least a reminder that he holds all the power here. Some people may react worse to it than others.

On the other hand, it allowed me to finally figure out what Adaman was talking about when he referred to 'those mushrooms that grow on Paras and Parasect'.

You win some, you lose some. That's how life goes.

[Aiba the benefits of the Mayor stealing books from the worlds kind of have more downsides than benefits, you can't make them equal like this]

[That... doesn't quite seem like equivalent exchange, but he doesn't know enough about alchemy to debate it. (No I could not resist the FMA joke.)]

I suppose they are an excellent way to learn about one another's worlds. I must admit, I do find everyone's truly fascinating.

It is fascinating. Joy said the variety of the universe was difficult to understand -- and she was right. Yet at the same time, I have wanted to find out more!

[Call it curiosity or just that normal AI instinct of wanting information, but once the shock of trying to understand this passed Aiba began getting excited about it. It's incredible!]

[Oh, cute... And also definitely a mood.]

I've always greatly enjoyed learning, and while I still do have a lot to learn about my own world... this is entirely unexpected. There's so much that I never could have imagined that truly exists in other worlds. It's incredible.

I have a feeling you would enjoy mine. As far as technological advances go, it has reached a high level that could make many people here marvel!

[And the recent Somnium Files game that came out apparently proves it further, hah]

I've no doubts about that. There's still so much we have to learn and so much more we can do; we've already come so far in the years since the Spiral King's defeat, so I look forward to seeing where we go from here.

[Progress is just so neat!! Of course, Aiba's world seems to be further ahead of his, so maybe someday they'll catch up...!!]

How is your world like? Tell me about it, for comparison's sake.

Hmm... The world I hail from has changed quite drastically in the last seven years. Humans were kept underground by the Spiral King - a cruel man who created and controlled beastmen to ensure we would never retake the surface. We turned their weapons - gunmen, essentially large robots - against them, resulting in the Spiral King's death.

Since then, our technology has advanced greatly. We've been able to not only reclaim the surface and build a life there, but to advance and better ourselves. We have created grapearls, weapons designed after the gunmen that are to replace them so we've no need to rely on our enemy's weapons any longer. Though I will admit that their designs have more than a few flaws we will need to work on going forward...

[But he's getting sidetracked, and Rossiu shakes his head.]

We have recently begun to explore not just the world around us, but space as well. We've come a long way since gaining our freedom.

[Like. A suspiciously long way. That's Spiral Power, baby!!!!]

In other words, you're rediscovering your world, a world that had been kept away from your grasp, and have the capacity to build large robots for warfare. You're also starting to explore space, pushing the boundaries of what humans are capable of.

As far as development goes, yours isn't bad. I certainly haven't seen large mechas out of fiction!

[Apparently Aiba has found herself quite impressed with the thought of large robots. Oho, now that's cool!]

That's correct. I'll have to see if I can draw them for you at some point - while I'm no artist, I did help in designing the grapearls so I believe I can get the basics across well enough.

[He's good at technical drawings not art, in other words.]

I will have to remind you of that. Perhaps I should try to design one of my own...it would have its uses...!

[Oh, my, her eyes cloud with happy thoughts. Aiba routinely does silly entrances during the dream sections of her canon when they have to delve into a suspect or witness' somnium to get information, much to her partner's annoyance and bafflement, and now she's picturing herself just smashing into one while on a mecha. That would be so fun, she's sure]

I would be delighted to see your designs - it could help having an outside perspective, and I'm sure you'll come up with something truly amazing.
