Week 2
Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.
It's now been a week since you were all captured. Perhaps you've already settled in. Perhaps you're already confident that you'll make it out of New Rapture alive. How serious about this could Mayor Fontaine possibly be, really?
While there still may not be much to do in your little hotel bubble, you've at least been granted a little more now - some kind of mysterious room and a sizeable library of all things. And in all the places you've looked so far, you've found valuable information, and even learned some of the story of New Rapture along the way.
Make sure to keep talking to the others! You want to keep those regain coins flowing, don't you?

I understand; I simply wanted to make sure of it, my friend. [...] I am...anything but; I did not want to see my sister again under circumstances like these. To think that he'd sink to this, it's...sickening.
[He lacks the confident, bombastic sort of bite he usually has; if anything his told feels cold. Furious, if tiredly so.]
...If it is not too personal a question, who...among yours, was forced into this?

[His tone remains even; his gaze darts back out into the group, seeking out one person in particular. He points her out easily - a girl perhaps somewhat younger than Forrest, though not by much. Her hair is darker, and her style of clothing is far different as compared to his; she's sitting near someone, and she seems to be doing...well, something similar to what he's doing, trying to maintain cheerfulness. She hasn't had anywhere to clean herself up, though; it's more obvious that she's been crying.]
Her name is Midori. She's in the army with me.
[His demeanor shifts a bit, then. It takes him a moment to continue.]
Midori is my wife. We married recently.

[Adaman's gaze goes towards the group, looking around at everyone--looking around at all of these people who don't deserve this. A part of him starts to wonder if this was their fate, before they were scattered into these rooms--could it mean that there are others out there? Arezu, Melli, even Irida? A part of him is thankful he hasn't seen her, their clans had only--
Adaman's thoughts are stopped when Forrest brings up just who his hostage is, and it makes something in his chest sink when he hears it. This guy's wife...]
...I shouldn't be surprised by just how low of a blow this man has managed to deal, but even so, I am deeply sorry. Your wife most certainly does not deserve to be here. ...None of them do.
[He watches his own hostage--a black haired young woman who's at least trying to keep everyone calm, if not cheerful in her own right. Hell, she's probably over checking on Midori, which makes Adaman's gaze soften. She hasn't cried or done anything of the sort, but...]
She looks like a kind girl; you're certainly a lucky man. She reminds me a little of somewhat I know, where I come from, but...she seems infinitely less prone to mischief as the one I know.

[He keeps an eye on her for now; he does notice the woman seeing to her at the moment...]
We started talking more because she made this...beauty cream. Often her tinctures and medications smell or taste strange because she uses unusual ingredients, but this smelled amazing... She made it just for me, for no real reason. So I made her an apron to wear while making her medicines, to prevent her from ruining her clothes. We kept making things just for each other, and eventually I gave her a bracelet and asked her if she would be mine forever. We were married shortly after.
I know how lucky I am; she's the kindest person I know.
[He pauses for a moment. Points out the woman with Midori.]
Is that Mai?

Ah, I understand; we've people who specialize in such things where I am from as well. They truly are irreplaceable people to have if something has gone wrong.
But truly, your story...the two of you are quite adorable. Exchanging gifts with one another to the point that it became so natural...that the two of you sought to wed is no surprise. You had already given each other everything of yourselves, why not share between each other?
[It makes everything happening even sadder, really, but Adaman nods his head as he looks over to where Forrest is pointing.]
It is, yes. I can't say I'm surprised that she'd gravitate to Midori; she's never been one to leave those suffering alone.

[This is such an awkward time to ask about this. There may not be a better one.]

She's kind beyond compare, to start; Mai is always the sort who wants to look out for others, but she's never smothering about it. She always tries to serve as a guiding, steady hand for those under her wing, but she's not afraid to be stern or scolding if you've done something wrong, either. She's knows how to be the perfect balance of a sister and a parent.
That's not to say that she was alone in such matters; my grandfather was usually busy with leading the clan himself, at the time. But she was always there, sometimes whether I wanted her to be or not.
[Adaman chuckles a bit at that, though, a little more pep.]
She's incredibly strong, in both will and physical prowess. Why, I wager she could still pick me up and carry me over her shoulders like a sack of mushrooms. She used to do that quite a bit, when I was being an unruly child, but also when I got injured from getting in over my head. She's reliable like that, too.
She's not all I have, but...she has been there for me through it all, and I appreciate all she has done and continues to do immensely.

[He envies it a little, if he's honest.]
...I know this likely doesn't need to be said, but she'll be all right. We'll come up with something; I truly do believe that.
