Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

It's now been a week since you were all captured. Perhaps you've already settled in. Perhaps you're already confident that you'll make it out of New Rapture alive. How serious about this could Mayor Fontaine possibly be, really?

While there still may not be much to do in your little hotel bubble, you've at least been granted a little more now - some kind of mysterious room and a sizeable library of all things. And in all the places you've looked so far, you've found valuable information, and even learned some of the story of New Rapture along the way.

Make sure to keep talking to the others! You want to keep those regain coins flowing, don't you?

So, you've been keeping to a nighttime schedule...? – ah, please do sit!

[ She gestures for him to take the unoccupied seat at the table. ]

I suppose it would be rather easy to slip into a different schedule without any natural light...

[kninja]

[Then sit he does.]

It's my natural habit, actually. I've had to compromise it a bit over the last couple years, since My Lady's an early riser and I follow where she goes, but it's surprisingly easy to return to it here.

[honeyedtea]

So you'd prefer to be awake at night, then?

[ That's a bit of a surprise. Maybe it's because she's so used to her own strictly ordered schedule that she can't really imagine flipping the whole thing on its head. ]

Don't you find it becomes... lonely? If no one else is awake.

[kninja]

I think of it more like an adventure! The whole world's different at night. You get to see all sorts of things that don't show up by the light of day.

[What... things, Obi...]

And it's not as though I miss all the daylight hours. I've always turned up where I'm needed and squeezed in naps where I can.

[honeyedtea]

I see. When you put it like that, it really does sound quite exciting.

[ She smiles at the thought, but there's something a little but glum to it as well. ]

I could almost be a little jealous of this Lady of yours. It must be wonderful to have such a trustworthy friend to rely on.

[kninja]

[...Hm.]

It's not always easy, is it? Making good friends.

[honeyedtea]

... Not always.

[ Hah. ]

I've considered myself fortunate to have found myself among such kind people here, though. Even if the circumstances are less than ideal.

[kninja]

We're a motley bunch, but yeah, I've found most of us awfully decent.

[He puts his chin in his hand, smiling encouragingly.]

Who do you find yourself liking so far?

[honeyedtea]

Oh, I can hardly pick and choose. It's just as I said... all of you have been so kind.

[ She returns his smile. ]

But... Mafuyu and Penelope were quite set on befriending me from the start. And it's been... reassuring to know there are people here to count among my friends.

[kninja]

[This is so (clenches fist) C U T E.]

Heh, that's great to hear. I'm happy for you, Princess. Stick with 'em, okay?

[honeyedtea]

Yes, I intend to! It would be quite unbecoming of me to neglect my friends now I'm lucky enough to have made a pair of them.

[kninja]

Better keep your strength up for them, right? So you can all go on supporting each other.

[He nods at her poor, neglected omelette.]

[honeyedtea]

[ ... oh, he's got her there, hasn't he. She muffles a giggle behind her hand. ]

I suppose I'd better.

[ And with that, she (very politely, of course) starts digging in. It's a little easier to force herself to eat when she can talk between bites and not overthink what she's doing. ]

Might I ask the same of you? I'm sure you've made yourself plenty of friends in our time here.

[kninja]

Yup, I guess so. I'm a friendly guy!

[Even if he looks like a hired killer in one third of his icons.]

Let's see... His Honor Jonathan and I chat pretty often. Sweet guy, he's been through a lot. I'm trying to keep his spirits up. And Li'l Daka and I agreed to look out for each other, too.

[Obi looks up, toying thoughtfully with his fork, then smiles at her again.]

And I dunno if we're friends yet since I don't even totally understand what he is, but I think Misfire's really fun!
