Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

It's now been a week since you were all captured. Perhaps you've already settled in. Perhaps you're already confident that you'll make it out of New Rapture alive. How serious about this could Mayor Fontaine possibly be, really?

While there still may not be much to do in your little hotel bubble, you've at least been granted a little more now - some kind of mysterious room and a sizeable library of all things. And in all the places you've looked so far, you've found valuable information, and even learned some of the story of New Rapture along the way.

Make sure to keep talking to the others! You want to keep those regain coins flowing, don't you?

For me, low level dungeons are about as close to down time as I get. And it's not unheard of to duo a dungeon either, depending on the difficulty.

So, what, you're always running around these dungeons of yours? No breaks? Sounds like kind of a pain to me...

Not at all. There's meetings, banquets, workshops, auctions, bounty hunting, recruiting...

I keep myself busy. [ Can't stop won't stop. ]

Whoa! What is it exactly you do, man? Apart from the dungeon thing, it almost sounds like you run a small government!

I'm the guild leader of Red Lotus, the number one guild in Korea. We have collaborations and contracts with the government too, of course.

[kninja]

Oh, a guild! That... almost makes sense.

[He rubs his chin.]

I don't know what kind of guild does all that, but all the meetings and recruitment, that checks out.

Ever since the Gate opened, users have become an important part of all aspects of society, even outside the hub. From security, to government, to hobbies...skill use outside the hub is strictly regulated, but it's not like it's disabled or non-existent. I could teleport from Korea to the United Kingdom with a snap of my fingers, but I'd have a very unhappy enforcer to bargain with afterwards~.

Ah, there we are, you lost me completely. And here I thought I was almost understanding something. Oh well!

It's a lot to take in. Feel free to explain the inner workings of your world to me if you like.

I mean, I don't know about any inner workings. It's just normal? There's no magic or technology or layers of other worlds to deal with. The most troublesome things I handle are the occasional assassination or kidnapping attempt. You know, from normal people, with normal abilities. No... tellyporting.

Not a lot of people would call assassinations just "troublesome". You must be pretty skilled, though I suppose I should have known that from tonight.

To be clear, I help prevent assassinations, not commit 'em. Just in case you had the wrong impression.

Hmm, we don't have mages where I'm from, so I couldn't say how strange or not that would be. If it happened.

Typically, most people think of mages as a less physical combat focused class. We can do the most damage, but we're usually pretty fragile. And our spells are flashy too.

Not the best choice for covert operations, then. I see, I see. Not that it stopped you from trying to sneak up on me.

I had to give it a shot and see just what Garam was always complaining about. He's the assassin for my guild, you see.

Your guild keeps an assassin on retainer?

Of course we do, it's pretty standard. Every guild needs an assassin or a treasure hunter, but killing two birds with one stone is more efficient.

[Seo Dawon's MMORPG world sounds cuckoo bananas. Why can't anyone else come from a good ol' normal fantasy shoujo manga?]

...I guess that's one way to ensure your guild stays on top.

Oh, PVP and therefore murder is still illegal, not to mention a great way to ruin your reputation. Unless it's sanctioned by the government, of course.

...though "accidents" still happen.

Mostly work around traps and treasure hunting, aside from typical DPS duties. Were you imagining he was a cold-blooded murderer?
