SECOND TRIAL
[ After sufficient time has passed, and you're all as ready to avenge dear Obi as you've ever been, Mayor Fontaine speaks. ]
Alright, that oughta do it. Pack up the evidence and head to the bathyspheres, same as last week.
[ There's yet again a line of spherical submersibles back there, ready to take off as the citizens of New Rapture climb aboard one or two at a time. And one at a time the bathyspheres descend into the abyss below New Rapture, deeper and deeper, once again to the dome on the seafloor, lit all around by bio-luminescent... slugs, of some kind? They're a little closer today.
The ring of podiums still sits in the center, just like last week. Two more podiums are going to stand empty. Two more dead. By the end of the day, best case scenario? It'll be three.
The projector clicks on. Mayor Fontaine is as here as he's gonna be. ]
You all know why you're here. Night Knight is dead. And I know plenty of you liked him alright, so don't let him down, hm? Or do. I'm here if you have questions.
[ Welcome to your second trial. ]

A shrug. ]
What's being a devil like?

Being a devil sucks, though. Mostly. I'm a lot more powerful as a devil, but I also have glass in my head and there's a rigid chain of command too. I'd probably have risen in the ranks pretty quickly, but like, I'd prefer to stay hot and not be ordered around by barely sentient grotesque monsters.

For a principal, it sounds like he could have used a dictionary? [ But he's really not here to debate semantics, it's just a pretty funny way of describing a hero even when you're used to people being defined in broad sweeping denominations based on class. ]
Tragic. Even more so that power is tied to your physical appearance, though I suppose that's not uncommon so much as it's usually a perk than a penalty. Maybe that's something you can fix in your second uprising.
[ For as much as he's gotten a read of her, he does not expect her to sit and play nice even in literal Hell. After all, he wouldn't. ]

[She shrugs. She's unapologetic about being evil, but she is a pretty good example of the ideal adventurer. Following his words to the letter would of course mean killing him.]
Oh, of course. There's a lot I'll do to get back in the world. I'm not going to give up just because I got stabbed twice.

[ That sounds like so much. ]
Third times the charm?
no subject
Naturally. [She considers leaving it at that, but she adds another bit. She is capable of being a good sport. Maybe.]
Well... Good luck, for the record. Here's hoping you all win and kill the final boss of this little game. [Or maybe she just doesn't want anyone to succeed where she failed.]
