WEEK 3

Well, the tail end of Week 2 could have gone better. That's the first thing to note.

The second thing is... hang on, should it be Week 3 yet? You've all gone to sleep (or... not, in the case of anyone who doesn't), but when you wake up (and you do all wake up), the calendar and clock on your device informs you that it's Sunday. In-character, all characters explicitly have absolutely no memory of Saturday.

Your sense of time isn't the only thing that's changed - a new branch of the facility has opened and become active overnight, giving you new resources and places to investigate, should you so choose. There's also a new channel on the television, though whether it's an improvement over the last one is questionable.

Otherwise, though, things have mostly settled into normalcy again, or at close to normal as you can find in this place. How long that peace will last, though... that's becoming increasingly uncertain, moving forward.

[ Fortunately enough, Brian is more reasonable than his boyfriend. He's not rushing after Angel...

[ Before the meeting room door closes on her, she turns and manages an answer. ]

I... I don't-

[ And then the door shuts. ]

[ you know if brian wasn't enraged, he'd make a joke about an angel killing a demon

...I'm sorry. [Nira relaxes slightly once Angel's gone.] You knew him before this, didn't you?

[ nods ]

My boyfriend.

this is the closest to "sad" I have for her

[...oh. Oh man, that makes her expression soften even more. If Jake were here and did something like that...]

I...I see. I'm so sorry, I know there's nothing I can do to make it better. [No matter how much part of her wants to reach out and offer comfort.] Do...do you want to be alone?

[ it takes a moment for him to answer but he shrugs ]

Dunno.

[A nod.] I'll-stay for a bit, then? If you want me to?

... Yeah, I think I'd appreciate that.

[ladygeryon]

[Yeah. She'll rearrange her legs a little so she's kneeling more comfortably, keeping her hand on his shoulder. She won't turn him down if he wants a hug or something like that, but she doesn't want to assume how much physical contact he's comfortable with.]

[ THIS HE APPRECIATES he sags a bit when he feels her hand on his shoulder. ]

You know... with how much he liked arson, it was fitting that he'd go out this way... [ letting out a broken laugh ]

Hah, really? Fire powers and hotheadedness seem to be pretty correlated, don't they...? [Her husband and almost all of her kids are shining examples of that.]

And being a Prince of Hell too.

...Hell? [Pokemon-world has concepts of an afterlife, but not quite in those terms.]

Fiery underworld where everything's a battle to the death.

[ a pause ] And everyone is hot. [ was that a joke? ]

...that'd explain it even more, yeah. Would...would that response have been seen as fair, down there? The...the Professor is stronger and has access to more resources, so naturally he wins?

[ he shrugs ]

I mean, I've seen Damien take part in fights to death down there. It's a thing he and his dads have to do.

They have to prove to everyone they're fit to rule.

...ah. Sounds like a harsh life.

A bit.

But he enjoys it, for the most part.

Better than resenting it, I suppose...how'd you two meet?

We go to the same school, Spooky High.

[ladygeryon]

Ah, that makes sense. He's...not as automatically combative there, I'm guessing?

[ gives her a Look ]

He's set fire to the school.

To get out of trouble.

For setting fires at school.

...ah. Forget I said anything, then. The school's still intact, though?
