Fourth Investigation

It's hard to tell that - of if - the motive has passed. The radios are the same, there are no missing powers, the day begins like any other. But there's something heavy hanging over you, the knowledge that, well... it's Friday. And unpleasant things happen in New Rapture on Fridays.

While we would love to say it's remotely quiet and peaceful, we can't. Helios Suites and the grounds around them are body-free, at least, but... there's a series of booming noises coming from somewhere else in New Rapture, echoing through the empty halls.

Looks like the game is afoot, citizens.

[ Well, Floyd is certainly here! Might as well check out what the heck happened to his buddy. ]

First and foremost, let's clarify something, you were able to turn him over, but only his face, because the rest of his body? Is underneath the jukebox. ]

As he's working, he's got a pretty good look at the back of the Undertaker's head, which... Oof. Sorry, Floyd. There's two injuries here, the first and most apparent one being the stab would to the back of his neck. It's deep, like very deep, though it doesn't go all the way through. ]

[ Yeah, so before he continues further, he's gonna yell down the way in the Mile in case anyone might be in the area for more investigative help!

And back to the Undertaker... Jeeze... Poor guy... What's the second injury? ]

[ This one's to the back of his head, so you'll need to move some of his hair. Still, the shape is a little off, and Floyd will be able to find a rather nice-sized bruise and some indentation. It looks like his skull was broken by something. ]

[ Oh yeah, he's wincing at that. ]

Jeeze....

[ Would the chair blocking the door be a match? ]

[ Strangely? No. There is no blood from this wound. ]

[ That's real weird! So we're looking for a blunt object of sorts. Are there any other wounds along the body? ]

[ Not separate wounds themselves, but instead a large pool of blood around the Undertaker's head and chest. It seems to be coming from that wound to his neck. ]

[You ever call for help and you get Misfire instead? It’s dire. Anyway he’s here, ten minutes late, not even with Starbucks —]

…I feel like I’m missing a really good joke here.

[Anyway, he’s here for…body assistance. Or body-adjacent. Or whatever is noticeable and distracting.]

[ While Floyd's looking at that, Hild'll poke around the rest of the parlor, starting with the door in. Is there anything going on with it beyond our fallen chair brother?

And just to have it show up again in the evidence TL, is the air more of like musty and stale? Or is there something else going on with that. ]

[ The chair's been broken, though that looks to be from the force you and Floyd put in when you entered. Other than that, it looks pretty normal... Oh, aside from the amorphous blood stains on one of the legs.

The air is specifically stale and hard to breathe in, though you know? The longer you stay in here with the doors open, that's clearing up! Weird! ]

[ Huh! Bizarre! If there's a fan in the room, she'll flip that on to help move the air around.

Are the bloodstains concentrated in one area? Or are they kind of just all over the leg? ]

[ There is a fan in the room! Uh. Put a pin in that, for a second? We'll get there. There's a lot wrong with this room that needs to be looked at.

The blood's in one spot, though you can't really tell from the shape what put it on here. ]

Fair! She'll look around the door to see if there's something that got jammed into the frame/whatever to block the airflow, but if not she'll move on and see what else is off with this mess of a place. ]

[ Not the door? But if she looks at any and all air ducts, there are pillows covering them pretty securely. ]

[ Well, that'll do it. Can she get them off? Is there anything hiding in any of the air ducts if she does manage to pull them off? ]

[ She can pull them off, and they aren't hiding anything! Nothing else really off about the pillows except how they were actively restricting air flow. ]

[ Sounds good! She'll move on from there and see whatever of these 18 clues she can pick up. ]
