Fourth Trial

[ After the evidence (and what a large batch of evidence it is, this time) has been gathered up, after actually patiently waiting a longer time than usual to make sure everything's been grabbed, the speakers over New Rapture crackle to life. ]

Time's up, everyone. You know where to go.

[ The lower number of bathyspheres, as you descend, is starting to become really notable, isn't it? The descent is the same as ever, lower and lower into the sea. The bioluminescence of those slugs on the ocean floor is almost brighter today, somehow, and some of them have even crawled up the cliff face around you as you pass them.

The dome approaches, slowly as ever, gleaming red in the darkness. The bathyspheres land in a row, doors opening one by one to reveal the familiar sight of the trial room, three more podiums now darkened. ]

Take your places, ladies and gentlemen. You've got a doozy of a situation to discuss. Ass Man and Silver Fox are dead. You know what happens if you can't figure out whodunnit.

[ Welcome to your fourth trial. ]

I would agree that the two cases are unrelated. It seems too convoluted for it to truly tie together in that short amount of time.
howveryglib: gaius looking sad he doesn't have a better writer (man remember how good 5.3 was...)

I also agree. Furthermore, even if an infinite amount of time had been allotted for a theoretical culprit to arrange both murders, the two seem different enough in method that I think they would point to different culprits regardless.

If - [Brett takes a breath, pushing all of his feelings back down into a little dark box. Almost had an emotion there, lol!] - if we think they're unrelated, should we choose one to focus on first? They're both complicated enough on their own.
howveryglib: gaius with a hand up to his chin, thinking deep thoughts (yeah... tacos sound great for dinner.)

I think we could stand to spend some time puzzling out Undertaker's murder, given that it is perhaps less...

[...looks around and tries to figure out how to put it...]

...emotionally charged and seems to have more moving parts to it. I do not believe we have discussed it all that much as of yet, either.

I...

[He scans his notes again, shakes his head.]

I can't picture what that was at all. Can someone draw it, maybe, I have paper and a pen.

Dealing with The Undertaker's might be a good idea. I feel like it would be easier to rule others out due to the complexity of the scheme.
