Good morning, New Rapture. The long night is ending.

Your number is as low as it's going to go. You may not know it for sure yet, but there's something in the cold New Rapture recycled air that suggests maybe things are about to change. An act of defiance against the Mayor actually panned out, and now... the mysteries of the underwater city are beginning to finally reveal themselves to you. How much has been just smoke and mirrors, like the execution room? How much has been real? And how much longer can your captor continue to avoid granting you answers?

No new wing of the city, this week. There are still offices to explore in city hall, if you'd like, but in general you get the feeling that it's going to take a change to make the next new information available. And make no mistake: change is coming, my friends. Stay strong. Stay together. Get any last coins in before the end.

[ This is a surprisingly normal room! There's a desk, some bookshelves, a closet, a big carpet on the ground... one could easily mistake this for the room of someone who isn't uh. Well, the person who the portrait suggests this room belonged to.

[SMH OF COURSE THIS IS WHAT I GET. Why would Ryuunosuke be anything OTHER than the purple key anyway. Goddamn.

Anyway, a relatively normal-looking room! Let's start with the carpet... is it leopard print.]

[ It is, but it's like. A leopard print that's approaching tasteful. It has the air of an aesthetic compromise.

There's something carved into the ground under it, though. ]

[I'm so proud of whoever managed to find a way to make this almost tasteful. Good for them.

But hmm!! What's this?]

Okay, well. Demon summoning aside!! Let's go check out the bookshelves. Surely those will be nice and normal unlike whatever this is!! (Assuming there is not anything more to gain from staring at this!)]

[ Apart from Circle Of Summon Caster Ayn Rand, that's the ground for you!

The bookshelf is full of a bunch of seemingly untouched books on sculpture, as well as... a small section of books on Joan of Arc for some reason? But it looks like there's something on the shelves behind the books. ]

[Hahahaha my god. This means nothing to him but it means things to me!!!!

Anyway, what's going on with the shelves themselves? He's absolutely willing to empty all these books to check it out.]

[ Looks like a bunch of VHS tapes! Do you remember what Forrest mentioned about this man's VHS tapes? Please don't watch this man's VHS tapes. ]

[Hmm, that seems like....... something he might not want to touch considering what Forrest mentioned about the tapes from before. But maybe he should try to confirm this is that same guy first!! If there's nothing else off with the bookshelves, then onto the desk!]

[ The desk! So the surface of the desk is pretty normal - there's some accents in that same leopard print as the carpet - with some scattered sculpting tools out. Inside the desk there's a lot of incredibly tacky personalized stationary for one Ryuunosuke Uryuu, as well as a few books on the occult? Maybe that explains the weird circle. ]

[Oh yeah, it definitely does. And this also confirms not to touch the tapes!! Good to know. Out of curiosity, most of the rooms have a portrait - does this one not?

But anyway, he'll continue to search through the desk to see if there's anything else of interest - anything on that ugly stationary, for instance?]

Not a lot here, looks like the man did most of his business uh. At his studio. That's about it for this office! ]

[Whoops, this is what I get for investigating before I'm properly awake, rip.

Good thing his office is nowhere near as awful!! Still definitely not a place to return to though, yikes. Up next is room #17!]

[ This is a much Fancier office, for sure! Lots of wood trim, much more elegant - there's a huge globe in the center of the room, and a number of novel modern conveniences around the space. There's also a desk, as well as a bookshelf.

And, of course, a portrait. ]

[Well, we're off to a much better start!! Let's go with the globe first, since that looks interesting. Any points of interest marked on here? I mean Rossiu's not gonna get them because he's from A Different Version Of Earth, but y'know. It could be important!]

[ It's a very 17th/18th century sort of globe, aesthetically, with a few points of interest! There's a pin in the Bermuda Triangle, as well as a few on the Eastern part of America. Several country names, especially in non-European areas, have been crossed out and rewritten, as though someone was trying to update this old thing. ]

[Huh! Interesting... Most of that doesn't mean very much to him, but it may be useful so he'll definitely pass this information along! Assuming there's nothing else to note about said globe, let's move on to the desk!]

[ The desk features, immediately on its surface, several guides to modern slang, as well as an instructional book for typing. ]

[He'll flip through them briefly to see if anything stands out - any notes or bookmarks or anything important - but honestly, that's fair. Learning to type is difficult and learning slang even moreso.

Assuming there's nothing noteworthy there, are there any drawers to go through?]

[ There are a couple words added into the slang dictionaries with ???? as the definition - and at one point, in old-timey calligraphy: V. Oberlin and G. Graves continue to vex me.

There are a number of handwritten sales records, all very old-timey but written with relatively modern vocabulary, which is weird. Particularly large sales of general supplies go to V. Oberlin, A. Wesker, and C. Sith. ]

[Huh! Well, these might be important. He's going to take those since he doubts the occupant of this room's gonna miss them!! Anything else to note here in the desk, or is it on to the bookshelves?]

[ Nothing else particularly of note in here!

The bookshelves are full of more books about modern life and technology, as well as history and, in particular, pirate lore. ]

[Interesting! Nothing behind the books either, I assume? How about in them? Any interesting marked pages or anything of the sort?]

[ There's a heavily defaced book about a historical couple named William and Elizabeth Turner, as well as a few books on nautical myths, with bookmarked pages about Davy Jones. There are also some notes in those, mostly about trying to figure out where his heart currently is? Weird. ]
