WEEK 5

That's three murders now - and this last trial got more than slightly out of hand. It looks like you might be in for another tough week... or at least, maybe that's just the refusal of this place to change too much. You lose Saturday again, but maybe six-day weeks are starting to feel normal by now. Who knows? The cycle of day and night continues apace, changing so little.

Speaking of change, though, there's a new area to look through, the biggest and most complex yet. And the end of one wing of the facility, from the looks of it - though you can probably guess where more areas might start to open up.

And speaking of opening up (segues!), this week if you're out particularly late, you might sometimes see Angel out and about! So hey, maybe change is on the horizon.

Just gotta hope it's a change for the better, don't you?

Investgation

[Nira's finally out and about again, and seems quite intrigued at this new location. She spends quite a bit of time in the museum, specifically the weapon section, studying the various blades with an intrigued look, though she doesn't try to grab any. She can be found taking a few photos of Slade, and Jewel dressed up in various pirate outfits, though.

She also spends some time with the rocks, looking even more fascinated as she studies each one. She's also on the lookout for any that resemble that purple gem they found last week, or any that might have evolutionary stone powers.

Later on, she can be found taking Jewel through the garden, strolling slowly and almost enjoying the view-until they come across the poisonous plants, and she lets out a groan.]

Of course.

[She can also be found spending time in the arcade, playing a few video games but without much concentration. She seems to prefer the ones that don't require fast reflexes, and occasionally seems to get a bit more aggressive in combat-based ones.]

...Adam'd probably love this room...

Garden

[Welcome to Therion's new favorite area, Nira. He's hanging out at the roots of a tree near the border of the walk-about arboretum and the Death Plot, working idly at some whittling.]

Of course what?

[She gestures at the garden.] Poisonous plants. Likely another source of murder weapon. [Jewel leans forward and plucks one before shoving it down her gullet, looking thoughtful. Nira pats her on the side.] Go ahead and eat your fill, Jewel.

[...Well, okay, if her garbage monster wants to eat poison, who is he to say anything? Nira wouldn't let anything hurt her Pokémon.]

Aren't some poisons good, anyway? In small doses, for medicines.

[She's literally a Poison-type, she'll be fine.]

Probably, like how some kinds of medicines are also deadly if you take too much at once. But I'm not an expert on how to manage dosages.

[bolderfell]

Me neither.

[Thoughtfully, he watches Jewel snack.]

However many it--she?--eats, it'll probably be replanted soon enough.

Jewel's a lovely lady, yeah. [More pats, as Nira reassures her giant trash 'mon.] Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised at all if it turned out there was a secret backup stash somewhere...

Everything else down here is returned to rights any time something happens. [Usually murder.] Can't see why the plants would be any different.

Yeah. Still, I like seeing them be put to some productive, non-harmful use. [Feed the giant trashbag!]

Hmmm.

[That's reasonable enough. He wanders over to inspect the plants before Jewel eats them.]

...Huh. I know one of these.

[He points. Noxroot, says the label.]

That grows all over Orsterra.

Ah, really? It does seem that a lot of the places that appeared this week have things from all our worlds. I saw several evolutionary stones in the museum as well.

[ Ah, the rocks. There actually do seem to be a number of rock samples here from different worlds, including, yes, some evolutionary stones! They're also all clearly and accurately labelled, whoever set this up knew what they were doing.

There's also, notably, an empty space in one of the cases! ]

[Huh. Is it labeled? And if she estimates the size, does it look like it'd fit that purple crystal they found?]

[ It is, and it could! Eridium. ]

[She'll take a note of that and head to the library. Is there anything about that mineral in the books there?]

[ Weirdly? No, not in any of them. ]

Rocks

[Rose is here scanning the rock display too, for pretty similar reasons.]

Anything interesting?

They actually have evolutionary stones. [Nira gestures at a collection of colorful stones that seem to be glowing slightly.] None of my team really need any, but it's interesting to see more influences from different worlds appearing...

What are they?

They're mostly each associated with a certain Type, and some Pokemon can evolve when exposed to them. Eevee's the most well-known, since it can evolve in multiple different ways depending on which stone it's exposed to.

So they're...not alive?

[ladygeryon]

They're not. [A pause.] I'm pretty sure they're not. I've never heard of any of them animating spontaneously, at least.

[Look, with all the living rocks around now she's going to take the possibility a bit more seriously.]

Okay.

[Hey, she'll take Nira's word, it's just that she has certain associations with glowing gemstones.]

None of these really look exactly like Gems. Even if they were, I'm not sure why they wouldn't form. This case wouldn't stop them.

Yeah, probably not. The Professor wouldn't want to give any of us more potential allies. Is there any way to tell, other than just waiting for them to form?

Gems are fairly regularly formed. You would never see a Ruby with a cut like that, for example.
