Well, you've now met the brains of the operation, as well as the shockingly nice-looking young lady in charge of day-to-day business. Now all that's left is to get used to your accommodations - there's 24 other people in similar shoes to yours to meet in this building, you know! And who knows how much longer you might have them...

The daily routine in the facility quickly becomes obvious - the only way to tell time moment to moment is to check the strange device The Professor gave you, but at the same time every day the lights in and out of the facility go up, and at the same time every night they go down. Otherwise, it's almost maddening sometimes, how little happens in here. At least you have a few rooms with enough to hopefully keep you occupied. Who knows what secrets they might hold? And there's always that vending machine, if you can find something that fits in the coin slot...

...yeah, I guess that would count as fast for you, wouldn't it? [She saw your age on those profiles.] How long does it take for...well, one of you to grow up?

We don't. We just come out of the ground exactly the way we're made to be.

Really? [She sounds a little surprised at that.] Is that why you find kids so interesting?

[lovelikeyou]

Mm-hmm! We used to think they were a totally separate species from regular humans.

I got to help Greg watch a baby recently.

...I guess I can see why you'd think that. Even babies and kids are pretty different. Kids can walk and talk on their own, after all, even if they still need supervision sometimes.

We just thought children were small humans.

I mean, if you take it literally they are, but they differ in way more than just size. Their brains are still developing, for example, and that means they're faster at learning and keeping some kinds of information. Like languages, for example.

Oh, really? You all have so many different languages.

They came about because of geographic divisions, I believe. You don't? How large is your world?
