WEEK 1

Well, you've now met the brains of the operation, as well as the shockingly nice-looking young lady in charge of day-to-day business. Now all that's left is to get used to your accommodations - there's 24 other people in similar shoes to yours to meet in this building, you know! And who knows how much longer you might have them...

The daily routine in the facility quickly becomes obvious - the only way to tell time moment to moment is to check the strange device The Professor gave you, but at the same time every day the lights in and out of the facility go up, and at the same time every night they go down. Otherwise, it's almost maddening sometimes, how little happens in here. At least you have a few rooms with enough to hopefully keep you occupied. Who knows what secrets they might hold? And there's always that vending machine, if you can find something that fits in the coin slot...

FRIDAY | SATURDAY

[ ooc: Welcome to Peace Week! Enjoy it while it lasts. Remember, office hours for The Professor's Assistant are over here if you're interested, while regains can be deposited over here! ]
bolderfell: You domestic types and your apple rabbits. <user name="choconut" site="tumblr.com"> (OBSERVE 🗡️ So that's it.)

[personal profile] bolderfell 2020-04-21 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Not especially. Most of them come from S'warkii--the village H'aanit's from. They tend to keep to themselves.
ladygeryon: (confusion)

[personal profile] ladygeryon 2020-04-22 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
Huh. [It's kind of a strange concept to her, that taming beasts would be a rare talent instead of something common.] What's her snow leopard like?
bolderfell: Rumor says... you suck. <user name="nappotuna" site="tumblr.com"> (WHISPER 🗡️ Here's the 4-1-1.)

[personal profile] bolderfell 2020-04-22 03:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Linde? Mm... well. She's built a bit like your--Aria, right?

[He uses his hands to illustrate the height and breadth of a snow leopard, passes one hand over the imagined slope of her head and shoulders to her rump.]

Don't know if you have cats, but she's like a large cat. White fur, with spots--more of a tail than Aria. Sharp teeth. She's a hunter, too, and savage in a fight. Saved our skins more than once. ...I could probably draw a picture, but I'm not much for drawing living things.
ladygeryon: (smile)

[personal profile] ladygeryon 2020-04-22 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, sounds a bit like a Liepard, though colored differently. The names sounded similar, but I wasn't sure how much weight to put on that similarity.
bolderfell: What do you mean I'm up to something? <user name="hashagi" site="tumblr.com"> (BOOK 🗡️ Like a good schoolboy.)

[personal profile] bolderfell 2020-04-22 04:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh. Funny how some things are similar in all these different places.

[Just like it's funny that a talking duck seems to have more in common with most of you than he does.]

Think leopards have different coats, depending where they come from. What colors are your Liepards?

[Asks the Purrloin gijinka.]
ladygeryon: (smile)

[personal profile] ladygeryon 2020-04-22 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Dark purple, with yellow spots and cream bellies. They're Dark-types as well, like Aria here.
bolderfell: I'm not saying I pranked the professor, but... <user name="hashagi" site="tumblr.com"> (PFFT 🗡️ Snicker snack.)

[personal profile] bolderfell 2020-04-22 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Purple and yellow.

[Wow.]

Can't see that working well to hide them in the wild, but I guess everywhere's different.

[personal profile] ladygeryon 2020-04-23 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
They can be quite stealthy when they need it. Most Dark-types eventually develop some form of control over shadows, after all.
bolderfell: Catch me if you can, suckers. <user name="hashagi" site="tumblr.com"> (SMUG 🗡️ Watch me now.)

[personal profile] bolderfell 2020-04-23 11:25 am (UTC)(link)
Aha. That'd be useful in many a trade.

[Particularly his.]
ladygeryon: (smile)

[personal profile] ladygeryon 2020-04-23 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess. It's a known factor of their abilities, though, so most people have some type of preparation for countering it. Besides, it's Ghost-types' invisibility and phasing you really need to watch out for.
bolderfell: No judgment. I love stupid people. They're good for business. (Promotional art) (OHHH 🗡️ So it IS that you're stupid.)

[personal profile] bolderfell 2020-04-23 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
[Hello. His eyebrows rise.]

Phasing?
ladygeryon: (intense stare)

[personal profile] ladygeryon 2020-04-23 04:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, Ghost-types can move through solid objects, though usually they can't move through something that's too thick. And there's Pokemon that can sense or repel them-they're actually weak to Dark-type attacks.
bolderfell: Yeah, I am a genius. <user name="phlavours" site="tumblr.com"> (NOD 🗡️ Exactly.)

[personal profile] bolderfell 2020-04-23 04:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Your world sounds...

[...]

Lively.
ladygeryon: (smile)

[personal profile] ladygeryon 2020-04-23 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose it must seem that way, if Pokemon don't exist and none of the other creatures I've read about have the range of abilities they do.
bolderfell: Wink wink, nudge nudge. <user name="nappotuna" site="tumblr.com"> (BUH-BYE 🗡️ See you la~ter.)

[personal profile] bolderfell 2020-04-23 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
The beasts around Orsterra likely aren't that different. But most of us don't take them home with us.

[He waves a hand.]

Maybe I'll tell you about them sometime.
ladygeryon: (smile)

[personal profile] ladygeryon 2020-04-23 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
And I'll be happy to listen.
