Well, you've now met the brains of the operation, as well as the shockingly nice-looking young lady in charge of day-to-day business. Now all that's left is to get used to your accommodations - there's 24 other people in similar shoes to yours to meet in this building, you know! And who knows how much longer you might have them...

The daily routine in the facility quickly becomes obvious - the only way to tell time moment to moment is to check the strange device The Professor gave you, but at the same time every day the lights in and out of the facility go up, and at the same time every night they go down. Otherwise, it's almost maddening sometimes, how little happens in here. At least you have a few rooms with enough to hopefully keep you occupied. Who knows what secrets they might hold? And there's always that vending machine, if you can find something that fits in the coin slot...

Oh, you should. Breakfast is important, you know. [hypocrite.] Especially with all this stress we're finding ourselves under.

[Alice can't help but break down at the second offer.]

...Sure, why not. I could use a drink.

[Of water. Which is pointless, but easy for her to cough back up later on. She rises from her chair, setting her book to the side.]

I'm Alice, by the way.

I'm used to not having time to eat three meals! It gets a bit busy around the lab in the morning, and between all of the running around I do, it's hard to find time to fit lunch in neatly...

[ She makes up for it with snacktime, though she really shouldn't. ]

I think I can use a drink too, though. Hope I wasn't interrupting anything. I was just looking to get to know everyone here a bit better.

[ Though she belatedly realizes her manners may not have been the best... ]

Ema Skye, forensic investigator. But that's obviously a mouthful, so just Ema is fine.

It's hard when you're busy. [Alice gives the other woman a reassuring smile.] Don't worry. I wasn't doing anything that I probably won't have hours and hours to do later on.

[She rises to her feet, graceful like a dancer, and holds out her hand for a prompt handshake.]

It's very nice to meet you, Ema Skye, forensic investigator.

Mm, that's fair. If nothing else, everyone here has a lot of free time now...

[ Which is a bit frustrating, when you're a busybody. Still, she smiles at her cute little joke and gives her a hand! ]

But that just means more time to get to know everyone better. I know they have those profiles and all, but I feel like it's always better to get my info firsthand. Part of the job, you know?

Well, luckily I'm used to having a lot of time on my hands, so this isn't too big an adjustment.

[Alice's handshake is surprisingly firm and a little chilly. Weird!]

I feel the same exact way. It seems creepy to try and memorize everything without having met people first.

Not to mention rude, to put personal things up for everyone to see. I mean, right down to our weight...ick.

[ Kimochi warui. That must be where the chill she just got came from-- ]

Anyway, what's your line of work, then, Alice? [ Something that gives her a fair bit of free time? ]

Oh, right? How creepy!

[Yep that was it nothing else!]

I actually just sort of... [how does she put this.] The profile says I'm an 'event planner slash interior decorator' but I mostly just do those things for fun. But I have my fingers in a few pies, business-wise. I'm lucky enough that my family is wealthy, so everything I do is something I love and feel passionate about.
