WEEK 1

Well, you've now met the brains of the operation, as well as the shockingly nice-looking young lady in charge of day-to-day business. Now all that's left is to get used to your accommodations - there's 24 other people in similar shoes to yours to meet in this building, you know! And who knows how much longer you might have them...

The daily routine in the facility quickly becomes obvious - the only way to tell time moment to moment is to check the strange device The Professor gave you, but at the same time every day the lights in and out of the facility go up, and at the same time every night they go down. Otherwise, it's almost maddening sometimes, how little happens in here. At least you have a few rooms with enough to hopefully keep you occupied. Who knows what secrets they might hold? And there's always that vending machine, if you can find something that fits in the coin slot...

[ ooc: Welcome to Peace Week! Enjoy it while it lasts. Remember, office hours for The Professor's Assistant are over here if you're interested, while regains can be deposited over here! ]

Things are going badly in my world right now - let's say I'm handling a lot more than basic sickness right now, cute though your little comment about the goddamn flu happened to be - and I'm pretty familiar with dead bodies. Not so much with the actual crime scenes, but corpses and autopsies I can handle if needs be.

Ah...right. Even with the talking animals, I'm still having a bit of trouble wrapping my head around this whole "multiple worlds" thing...

[ She can't help but sheepishly turn away at that. ]

Anyway, I'm sorry to hear that. I didn't mean to be insensitive. But if worse comes to worse, I would appreciate not having to handle it by myself, if you're willing to help. Second opinions never hurt.
fivestagegod: (01. you're working all day)

Don't mention it, that's actually my thought too. I always had either one of my coworkers or my wife looking over everything I was doing - so don't worry, I'm not above having someone else check my work. Or being the one doing the overseeing, either way.

[He does seem pretty easy, at least. Not really worth getting worked up over now that he's said his piece, probably.]

Promise I'm not trying to take your head off, this entire situation is a lot. I'm all for the peace and unity approach, though. The less chaos in an enclosed space, the better.

No, I understand. And it goes both ways, too. I'd be happy to give you another pair of eyes and hands, should you ever need them. And if I overstep like that again, I'd prefer for you to tell me so, anyway. Getting chewed out is part of the learning experience, after all.

[ Even if it's never quite a good feeling... ]
fivestagegod: (07. if we can make it out of this alive)

True enough.

[I mean, he doesn't tend to be on the receiving end of it himself very much, but hey, he can concede the point.]

I do try to keep my world's weird baggage to myself; it's not precisely light conversation. But I'm actually pretty glad to know that there are others here who know what they're doing. And who are trying to mitigate damage, because god knows some of the others aren't.

[anna. the several people among us who will probably put someone's head through a wall before too long. the fucking...duck.]
