Well, you've now met the brains of the operation, as well as the shockingly nice-looking young lady in charge of day-to-day business. Now all that's left is to get used to your accommodations - there's 24 other people in similar shoes to yours to meet in this building, you know! And who knows how much longer you might have them...

The daily routine in the facility quickly becomes obvious - the only way to tell time moment to moment is to check the strange device The Professor gave you, but at the same time every day the lights in and out of the facility go up, and at the same time every night they go down. Otherwise, it's almost maddening sometimes, how little happens in here. At least you have a few rooms with enough to hopefully keep you occupied. Who knows what secrets they might hold? And there's always that vending machine, if you can find something that fits in the coin slot...

[He doesn't miss the exchange between the two of them and he nearly pulls back to leave, but then Aria's coming over, and, well. Fine. He watches how delicately she takes the piece of apple from him, intrigued.]

So you eat fruit, huh.

[Not what he would've expected from a body type like Aria's, all lithe four-legged hunter.]

[Nira does hear that, and adds a comment.]

Pokemon are all pretty omnivorous. And a lot of them enjoy Berries as treats. [Aria seems to be a little surprised at how crunchy it is, but she munches on it happily anyways.]

[...Cute.]

You two seem to have worked together a long time.

[ladygeryon]

Yeah, we have. She's been with me since I was a kid, after all. [Nira pauses in her running to come over and pet Aria on the head a bit as she talks.] She's always been looking out for me, haven't you Aria?

[bolderfell]

[As he sits back, the corner of his mouth twitches up just a little into a small, wistful smile.]

Must be nice. How'd you meet?

[ladygeryon]

She was a present from my parents, when I was younger. Absol have the ability to sense natural disasters, and they asked for one bred to be especially sensitive to them, so that I'd have someone looking out for me on my mountaineering expeditions.

[bolderfell]

[His eyebrows rise.]

Mountaineering?

[ladygeryon]

Yeah, I've always had an affinity for mountains. I definitely enjoy climbing over being stuck underwater. [Which is why she often seems slightly on-edge.]

[bolderfell]

Huh. So it's... something you do for fun.

[What an absolutely baffling concept.]

[ladygeryon]

...yeah? It's fun to just explore, sometimes.

[bolderfell]

[He shakes his head and shrugs.]

I know one or two who might agree with you. More danger than it's worth, if you ask me--but then, our worlds must be pretty different.

[ladygeryon]

Perhaps. Rockslides and earthquakes would be bigger worries than wild Pokemon.

[bolderfell]

We've got those, but bandits and hungry beasts, too. If people travel, it's usually because they have to.

[ladygeryon]

Ah, definitely different then. There's a lot of trainers who go on journeys just to see more of the world and challenge their Regional Gyms.

[bolderfell]

...Sounds nice. Must be a peaceful place, if so many feel safe enough to do that.

[ladygeryon]

It is, most of the time. We also have fast communications and Pokemon that can use Teleport, so it's faster to get experienced Trainers in when a crisis occurs.

[bolderfell]

[He lets that soak a moment.]

Must be a kind place, too. If so many are concerned about faraway troubles.

[ladygeryon]

...yeah, they are. People don't do that where you're from?

[bolderfell]

Most have enough worries of their own without taking on that of strangers.

...But no. We have our charitable types, too. Maybe they just don't survive long enough for me to meet a lot of them.

[ladygeryon]

[It's a little sad to hear that, though Nira doesn't mention it.] Different worlds, I suppose. And we have plenty of ways to support people who need it, even without help from specific people.

[bolderfell]

Well, it may also be that I don't travel in the nicest circles. Others in my traveling party might paint you a very different picture of Orsterra. Or not.

[ladygeryon]

Oh, you have a traveling party? I used to travel with a group when I was younger too, though Jake and I are mostly retired from that life. [Sure, she goes on missions for Terrakion sometimes, but that's not really traveling.]

[bolderfell]

Mm. We make a... strange group. But we're useful to one another, I guess.

[ladygeryon]

Yeah, that's how we started out, just kind of running into each other and teaming up because it was convenient. But in the end they're the guys I'd trust most to have at my back.

[bolderfell]

...Well, I'm sure none of them would choose to place me at theirs.

[He looks a little more tense than he did before.]
