WEEK 1

Well, you've now met the brains of the operation, as well as the shockingly nice-looking young lady in charge of day-to-day business. Now all that's left is to get used to your accommodations - there's 24 other people in similar shoes to yours to meet in this building, you know! And who knows how much longer you might have them...

The daily routine in the facility quickly becomes obvious - the only way to tell time moment to moment is to check the strange device The Professor gave you, but at the same time every day the lights in and out of the facility go up, and at the same time every night they go down. Otherwise, it's almost maddening sometimes, how little happens in here. At least you have a few rooms with enough to hopefully keep you occupied. Who knows what secrets they might hold? And there's always that vending machine, if you can find something that fits in the coin slot...

[ ooc: Welcome to Peace Week! Enjoy it while it lasts. Remember, office hours for The Professor's Assistant are over here if you're interested, while regains can be deposited over here! ]

Might be tough to get all of us in here at once, but it's not a bad idea. [ Assuming everyone cooperates, that is. ] We'd make sure no one was left out that way, too, and I think that's a pretty smart idea...

[ It's worth a try... ]

Hopefully we wouldn't get sick of each other if we made it a routine?

[Shelley frowns for once. If she had to be honest, she's pretty sure them getting sick of each other is a very real possibility. She can already think of a few who would have short fuses than the rest.

...

This would either go awesomely or be a complete disaster]

We won't know for sure until we do it.

Maybe we can do a trickle sort of thing first? Instead of inviting everyone all in one go, we can make it a gradual thing. I think if we forced everyone to come, they probably wouldn't take it as well. But if, say for example, I invited Mira, and you invited Nova, and then the next day Mira invited Therion and Nova invited Rin, and so on and so on until we have everyone here...

Perfect! It'll be subtle and nobody will notice a thing until the specter of friendship smacks them on the face.

[It's bound to be better than inviting everyone at once, really]

It may be a little bit sly, but it ensures that by the time we all get in here, everyone has at least one person they consider to be good company. My biggest goal for now is to guarantee that no one feels like they're alone.

Because if someone feels alone they'll do something they'll later regret...

[It's good reasoning. Loneliness can do things to a person]

At the very least, I think it would lower the probability...

[ As she stuffs food in her face... ]

If you have a friend, ideally, you should be working to manage each other's stress. There's a reason that you're knocked over the head with the "buddy system" when you're a kid. It's a proven fact that people adapt more quickly to new situations in pairs than they would have working alone. For example, take a new recruit at an office job shadowing a more experienced associate...

You're a ray of clarity in this dreary sea, Ema.

[She has to admit everything Ema says makes complete sense, really. Yup, perfect sense! In that case, for this to work effectively, maybe she should try this on the grumpiest members of the cast. Hmmm...who is in high risk of taking drastic and murderous action...]

Dibs on Jasper!

Jasper...ah, yes! How could I forget? She was quite enjoying the "Snake" game, after I showed her how to play...

[ Maybe "enjoying" isn't quite the right word, but she was definitely getting, as the kids say, "into it". ]

She seems approachable, once you get a sense of her priorities.

What are her priorities, other than skill games as old as time itself?

[Give her the deets!]

Call it a hunch, but I have the feeling that if you gave her a challenge, she'd be more than happy to take you on. She seems proud.

[ Something to beware of. Not necessarily be scared, just be aware. ]

Something tells me it won't be as simple as 'I double dog dare you to be friends with everyone'.

[Shelley pushes her empty plate aside, thinking]

...but I can work with that. I'll figure something out, I'm sure of it.
