WEEK 1

Well, you've now met the brains of the operation, as well as the shockingly nice-looking young lady in charge of day-to-day business. Now all that's left is to get used to your accommodations - there's 24 other people in similar shoes to yours to meet in this building, you know! And who knows how much longer you might have them...

The daily routine in the facility quickly becomes obvious - the only way to tell time moment to moment is to check the strange device The Professor gave you, but at the same time every day the lights in and out of the facility go up, and at the same time every night they go down. Otherwise, it's almost maddening sometimes, how little happens in here. At least you have a few rooms with enough to hopefully keep you occupied. Who knows what secrets they might hold? And there's always that vending machine, if you can find something that fits in the coin slot...

[...he overhears that remark as he's perusing the shelves, and smiles fondly...]

I do know someone who'd appreciate all the books on fish, actually. I hope I can liberate a few of them and take them back to her.

[...like, he's glad she's not here, but.]

Smuggling a few of these out is a good idea. Now, how to bundle them so they don't get in the way while carrying them...

[Shelley sounds a bit excited about that, because hey, it means inconveniencing the Professor. Helping Seteth get as many fish books as possible could be fun!]

Well, I imagine I will cross that bridge when I come to it. Hopefully we will not be here too long, but there will probably be plenty of time to work out logistics.

...I would appreciate the help, though.

[ANYONE WHO DOES A NICE THING FOR FLAYN, EVEN INDIRECTLY, IS GOOD....]

Sure, of course. I'll try to think of something. Who are these for, anyway? A professor who is fan of fishes? Or maybe for yourself but you don't want to admit it's for you?
baitless: a very subtle smile. (ah yes st. cethleann.)

Oh, no, they’re for my younger sister. We used to spend a lot of time by the coast, so she grew very fond of them, both in the wild and, well, as food. I think she would enjoy getting to look through comprehensive, illustrated volumes like these if she had the chance.

Aw, that's actually pretty sweet of you! [Gosh, it really makes her want to help Seteth smuggle books out of this place. Hmmmm...] Seeing them in person may be even better. If we take over this place and kick the Professor out, maybe she could come here and see fishes right from the bottom of the sea.

[Hostile takeover, yeah!]

Oh, that would be delightful. I have to admit, this place might actually be pleasant and fascinating if it wasn’t the setting for some horrible murder experiment.

[goddess, Flayn would go so apeshit, and he smiles a bit fondly about how excited she’d probably be...]

Have you ever been in places like this one before?

[Shelley hasn't, but aquariums are close enough, right?]

No, I have not. I do not think it is even possible to construct something like this back home.

Not close enough to the ocean for anyone to bring these wonders to your city or town?

[Not everyone lives like an hour from the coast like she does, after all]
