Well, you've now met the brains of the operation, as well as the shockingly nice-looking young lady in charge of day-to-day business. Now all that's left is to get used to your accommodations - there's 24 other people in similar shoes to yours to meet in this building, you know! And who knows how much longer you might have them...

The daily routine in the facility quickly becomes obvious - the only way to tell time moment to moment is to check the strange device The Professor gave you, but at the same time every day the lights in and out of the facility go up, and at the same time every night they go down. Otherwise, it's almost maddening sometimes, how little happens in here. At least you have a few rooms with enough to hopefully keep you occupied. Who knows what secrets they might hold? And there's always that vending machine, if you can find something that fits in the coin slot...

Really? [ She clears her throat lightly. ] I mean--yes. Thank you, Rhea.

[ And she'll take a seat next to her... though, she didn't miss that wince. ]

If your tea is too hot, I've found adding a little milk or cream helps cool it. Or... ice cubes, even.

[archboxer]

Ah, yes, well. I find it waters the tea down too much.

[She gives a small, sheepish chuckle.]

I find it more of a problem when people invite me to tea. I cannot wait for it to cool, then.

[philoxenia]

Mm, that's fair.

[ Ain't that a mood. ]

I'm the same way... and I'm usually too impatient when it comes to tea, anyway.

[archboxer]

Privately I would just let it set while I did paperwork but with others, well. There is no use hiding it here.

[If you're the guest of honor it's very impolite. Besides, someone put that on her profile.]

No matter how much time you have there is always something that must happen right away, yes? I know that feeling well.

[philoxenia]

Ah, well...

[ She nods. ]

Something like that, yes. I'm usually busy with schoolwork... and, really, I just enjoy tea too much.

[archboxer]

I find a cup or two is quite soothing before bed.

[It is rather early in the day but hey.]

Sometimes it is the smaller things in life.

[philoxenia]

Ah, I always have a cup of strawberry tea, myself.

[ It's still odd to her that it's easy to talk to so many people... especially an important person like Rhea. But things are different here. This place doesn't play by the same rules as her own world. ]

Especially here, small comforts are important.

[archboxer]

I prefer chamomile, myself. Helps settle the mind.

['It might help in the future.' Rhea's rather glad for the conversation, though. It's been a while since she's been able to talk to so many people personally.]

Indeed. It makes me wonder, though, why underwater? Surely there are easier places to isolate people.

[philoxenia]

Chamomile... I might try that tonight.

[ She pauses, considering. She absolutely blames her brother's fiance the writer for what she thinks first, which is, Well, maybe there's nothing left.

She pushes that thought way, way down. ]

I'm not sure... Less of a chance of someone escaping, maybe. Quite a few of us seem human, after all...

[archboxer]

I hope it helps.

[This situation is rough on everybody, after all! She pauses.]

Even so... something about it just seems odd to me.

[philoxenia]

[ She nods, taking a sip of her own tea. ]

... It does seem like the Professor's gone through far too much trouble for this... "experiment."

[archboxer]

Why not just strand us in a building on a desolate island or some other location? To build under the ocean is quite an undertaking, even if we presume that this was not the first time this building was used.

[Her finger taps her mug. Things just don't add up.]

[philoxenia]

... I have a feeling it's not so we can live close to the wildlife...

[ She sighs. ]

I'm sure we'll only come up with more questions the longer we're here.... But, at the very least, the tea and food are good.

[archboxer]

Indeed. It is refreshing to eat with everyone as well.

[She's not lonely, what are you talking about.]

[philoxenia]

... It really is, isn't it?

[ How many lonely people do you see here? It's definitely not two. ]

Even if it's just a cup of tea, it's nice to sit and talk with someone.

[archboxer]

It is a luxury I cannot indulge in every day.

[Security reasons, you know.]

So even just idle talk is pleasing.

[philoxenia]

Idle talk... well, luckily for you, I can easily do that.

[ It's strange, but... she sure isn't complaining. ]

[archboxer]

I am glad for it, if do not mind me saying.

[Look at that smile.]

[philoxenia]

[ It's a very nice smile. And Rhea'll get one in return. ]

I don't mind at all. ... I'm glad for it, too. It's not often I get to sit down with someone like this, either.
